Sacred Proshthhapadi has just begun. Today is the fourth day of Proshthhapadi Bhaagavata Saptaaha in Mantralaya.

Our living should be in the frame work of  such a nature that our attitude, action and deed should not hurt others. That is possible only to the Bhaktas. Bhakti is Sarvswa to them. Our Mantralaya Sri Raghavendrateertha Gurusarvabhoumaru is a living example to the whole universe today.

The Adhikamasa Vruta Aacharane, the importance of Daana and the Seva Nirata Bhakta's unique style of Aacharane are described in Mantralaya(475).

Meaning


Dear Devotees many have asked me to describe in detail about the actual Celebration of Adhikamaasa. So in this Mantralaya Series I wish to share the details of VRUTA and DAANA. On the sacred bank of Tungabhadra in Mantralaya owing to the Divya Punya Sannidhana of Sri Raghavendrateertha Gurusarvabhoumaru  daily we witness the grandeur of the Celebration of Adhikamaasa with devotion. Sri Uttanooru Gopaladasaru  Parama Bhaktaru of Mantralaya Rayaru  has said with pride and honour about the Pooja and the utsavas in Mantralaya, long back:

It  is Prerana of Sri Hari and the Desire of Mantralaya Sri Raghavendrateertharu that Gurustotra should be of only 33 Shlokas by Bichali Japadakatti Sri Appanacharyaru. Owing to the great affection on our Gururayaru burst into tears in grief, when he heard  that Rayaru is entering Brindavana  in Mantralaya,  made him to start to Mantralaya immediately from Bichali Japadakatti though the Tungabhadra was in  full spate and overflowing, Spontaneously through Ashu Kavitva Gurustotra Sri Raghavendra Stotra came out from his heart and went on Performing the Pathhana of Gurustotra that too only 33 Shlokas. Appanarya never intended to have 33 Shlokas. But it is the Sankalpa of Sri Hari that by the Pathhana of Gurustotra the Devotees must get :

ADHIKA PHALA ADHIKASYA ADHIKA PHALA and the PARAMANUGRAHA of Sri Raghavendrateertha Gurusarvabhoumaru in manifolds. Thus we are amazed to the Concern and the Affection of Appanaryaru and Gururayaru. Gurustotra is Stotraraja.

Let us describe the details of ADHIKAMAASA VRUTA :

UPOSHANA  -  UPAVAASA 
EKA BHUKTA   - Only one time meals and water. Afterwords no meals and water till that next day at that time.
NAKTA BHOJANA  - Observing Upavaasa on the whole day and meals at night.
DHAARANE   -  PAARANE -  On day observance of Upavasa and the next day meals. Upavaasa and meals on the alternate days.
AYAACHITA  - Without requesting the members of the family take out the things, prepare the food, offer Naivedya - Hastodaka and then take the meals
ALAVANA VRUTA  - Food without salt
ADHAHA SHAYANA - Sleeping on the floor without the bed(soft bed).use only Chaape, a mat made of grass.
LAKSHA BATTI - Prepare the Hoobatti in the house and offer the same to Swami Deepaaradhane
LAKSHA NAMASKARA LAKSHA PUSHPARCHANE
LAKSHA TULASI ARPANE

This is to be followed strictly for a period of one month in this Adhikamaasa. Free from all the Raaga-Dweshas,with a pure mind and heart remembering  Sri Hari Vayu Guru. Complete involvement of Bhakti is the main thing required in this Adhikamaasa. Though we are bodily here, mentally and heartily we should be in Mantralaya at the Divya Punya Sannidhana of our Sri Raghavendrateertha Gurusarvabhoumaru we are sure get the PUNYAPHALA. On the above said Vrutas Sajjanas can  select any one of the Vrutas of their choice.

Let us go into the details of ADHIKAMAASA DAANA:

Owing to the arrival of Adhikamaasa after 33 months, Daana in numbers of 33 is auspicious and always preferred. Offering Daana to an able Sajjana in 33 numbers is Punyaprada. Giving each to 33 members will not yield any Phala. Here the things and the articles bearing 33 numbers  is important and not the 33 persons. 33 Sarees, 33Panches, 33 Neerajina, 33 coconuts, 33 fruits and 33 Apoopa Daana to one individual is the real Adhika Daana. Going to a temple performing Bhajan and offering each Daana to 33 members is not sane and wise. In a public place it will look like a Prachaara rather than Bhakti. Making others to know that I have done this. We should never indulge in such things. Let us surrender to Sri Hari with Samarpanabhaava:

With this feeling we have to surrender to our Mantralaya Sri Raghavendrateertharu and attain the Punya and be gratitude to Sri Hari. While undertaking Vruta and Daana we have to perform the Sankalpa without fail. Sankalpa is a Promise, a Resolution :

Always the Daana should be given with a good heart  to a Suddha Sadaachaari that too happily. Lighting the 33 Neerajina in a Brass round plate to a Sajjana is called as AKHANDADEEPAPRADAANA that will definitely result into Laxmi Prrapti and also by 33 Tamboola Daana to a Satvika will acquire Soubhagya. We should not change the rules of Daana as per our comfort and convenient. Who are we to give Daana ? The whole thing belongs to Sri Hari.
Everything is yours Swami that humbleness we must have.

On this Adhikamaasa we are forbidden to use Udada Dal. We must not respond to the desire of our tongue. Control our tongue:

On this Adhikamaasa we have to make the Paaraayana of Sri Bhagavadgita that too the 15 th. Chapter all the 20 Shlokas everyday. 15 th. Chapter is PURUSHOTTAMAYOGA. Then only the ADHIKAMAASA VRUTA DAANA  ACHARANE is fruitful. Here is a Devotee who has successfully performed the Samaaropa of Adhikamaasa by chanting Sri Raghavendra Mangalashtaka and the Shloka of Sri RaghavendraTantra always at his leisure with devotion for complete one month. This is some what rare and unique !  Many of us have never thought of such Vruta Aacharne so far !

Mantralaya is situated on the Sacred bank of Tungabhadra which is flowing with powerful waves. Here below the Bhavya Divya Neela Brindavana our kind Yatiraat Guraat Sri Raghavendrateertharu is engaged in Akhanda Deergha Sri Hari Japa. Such a great Yatirajaru will always do the Best to the Devotees.

The meaning of this Shloka of SRI RAGHAVENDRATANTRA by the greatest Devotee Sri Krishnavadhhotaru is that our Kind Sri Raghavendrateertha Gurusarvabhoumaru will always Protect and take care everywhere and in all our undertakings. In the  morning and in the day time, in the night and in the evening and the afternoon, during our sleep and awake  - Jaagruti and Sushupti. In all my works and always Protect us. Where ever we are the Sannidhaana of Mantralaya Gururayaru will come and help to the maximum extent to those Devotees as our Senior Hyderabad Devotee always says Complete Surrendering to our Sri Raghavendrateertharu with Firm Faith and Constant Belief. Rayaru listens the call of the devotees carefully and affectionately.

This Rayara Devotee feels that he is listening the sound of flow of Tungabhadra and seeing Rayaru through inward eyes. Always pure with Shuddhaachamana and Alpaachamana as he is engaged in the Pathhana of Stotra.This is nothing but the Prerana of our Mantralaya Sri Raghavendrateertha Gurusarvabhoumaru. I  offer my sincere Regards to this Adhikamaasa Vruta Aacharane.

What Bichali Japadakatti Sri Appanacharyaru has said in Gurustotra is definitely true:

We will definitely obtain the Best in this world and also in the otherworld by Praying to our Mantralaya Gururayaru. There is no doubt about that !
