Mantralaya-400

( Sri Hanuma Jayanthi)

Date : April 18 2011

Background

It is my Privilege  and  Punya  to presnt Mantralaya (400) on the auspicious day of  Chitrapournima Sri Hanuma Jayanthi. By the Paramanugraha of Mantralaya Sri Raghavendrateertharu today Mantralaya Series reached 400. It is all by Rayaru and not by mean. I am an ordinary Devotee of Devotees of Mantralaya Sri Raghavendrateertharu and living under the Krupaa Chhatra of our Kind Yatiraat, happily in the Seva of Mantralaya Sri RaghavendrateerthaGurusarvabhoumaru.

The importance and the grandeur of Sri HanumatJayanthi and the Celebrations at Hampi  Anegundi,Mantralaya,Bhikshalaya and Panchamukhi  and the Aaradhana of our Swamiji 38th.Pontiff  H.H.Sri Sushameendrateertharu very popular  and well  known as walking Nadedaaduva  Rayaru are described in Mantralaya(400).

Meaning

Chaitra Shukla Pournima, Aagi Hunnime, Davanada Hunnime, ChitraPournima is the most auspicious day owing to Sri Hanumathadevara Jayanthi Sri HanumatJayanthi. This Pournima is also called as Hampi Hunnime. On this Holy Day the Rathhotsava of  the Aaraddhya Adhidaiva  Sri Virupakshaswami of our Vijayanagara Emperors, Kulaswami of  Karnataka Saamraajya. So the Utsava - Jaatra of  Sri Virupakshadevaru is full of devotion and grandeur IN Hampi on the bank of the sacred Tungabhadra. From the days of Ramayana the Utsava - Rathhotsava of  Sri Rudradevaru Hampi Sri Virupakshaswami is in force in Hampi - Vijayanagara. The joyful Celebration excelled with devotion as the Hampi Virupaksha is the Kula swami - Kuladevata of millions of devotees of India in general and of Karnataka in particular. Sri Ramachandra and his brother  Laxmana during the  long Vanavaasa of  fourteen years  resided in Hampi (to observe) to  the Acharana of  Chaaturmaasa. During this Punyakara  Chaaturmaasa Sri Ramachandradevaru daily performed the  ooja of Sri Rudradevaru Hampi Sri Virupakshadevaru with great devotion and highly satisfied with gratitude. The Cordial relationship of Sri Ramachandra and Sri Shiva is an example to the universal harmony of Shaiva and Vaishnava. It is very important  to know  that the ancestors, forefathers of Mantralaya Sri Raghavendrateertha  Gurusarvabhoumaru lived in the Vijayanagara empire Hampi with pomp and show as the  great scholars, the Pandits of Chaturveda and Sakala Shaastra Kalaa Parinataru. It is the immense fortune of our Karnataka that the ancestors of our Rayaru hailed from Hampi. More over it is on this  Holy and Sacred  bank of Tungabhadra - Chakrateertha  Hampi Sri Hanumanthadevaru met Sri Rama and Laxmana on this spot only. Sri Vyasaraja Gurusarvabhoumaru installed Sri Yantroddhaara Praanadevaru as a permanent remembrance of this historic meet of Sri Hari Sri Rama and Sri Ramabhakta Sri  Hanuma Devaru -Sri  Vayudevaru - Sri Madhwacharyaru:

Vaasinam Chakrateerthhasya Dakshinasthha Girow Sadaa
Tungambodhi Tarangasya Vaatena Parishobhite

Yantroddhaaraka Sri Praanadevaru, Kishkindhe, Rushyamooka Parvata, Anegundi Navavrundavana Sri Praanadevaru, Yergol Sri Saakshee Praanadevaru near the Shanku Cave( cave is the shape of Shankha, previously it was the Ashrama of Shankhu Rushi, there only our Sri Jaiteertharu wrote the Teekas to our Acharya works - like a Tapasya completed  the Granthha Rachana  and took lot of pain and strain as no Yatis could take)    are all the Siddhi and Punyakara Yaatraa Sthhala today to our Mantralaya Devotees.

Sri Praanadevaru took Avataara from the Punya Garbha of Sri Anjanadevi for the great task to dedicate himself in the Seva of Sri Ramachandra Sri Hari and to our Uddhaara.

Buddhihi Balam Yasho Dhairyam Nirbhayatvam Arogataa
Ajaadyam Vaakpatulavam Cha Hanumaaat Smaranaat Bhavet

We say : HANUMANA  MATAVE  HARI MATAVU

It means Sri Praanadevaru's Sri Madhwacharyaru's Opinion is the Opinion of Sri Hari. A very faithful, honest and sincere Bhakta of Sri Ramachandradevaru, born on this day early in the morning at the dawn of Chitra Pournima. The abundant power, extraordinary intellectual capability, zeal, vigour and Bhakti of Sri Hanumanthadevaru  are unimaginable so mother Anjanadevi named the child as Hanumantha. Hanumat means intelligent. On this day of ChitraPournima HanumaJayanthi special poojas are performed at the sanctum of Yantroddharaka Swami.

Naana Deshaan Gataihi Asdbhihi Sevyamaanam Nrupottamaihi
Dhoopa Deepaadi Naivedyaha Pancha Khaadyaischa Shatitaha.

Very beautifully Sri Vyasarajaru described about our Sri Hanumanthadevaru. For Swami   Naivedya  though the food of Rice is offered  Panchakhaadya is also essential as Swami  liked  is very much. Dry coconut, Sugar candy, cashews, Dry grapes and dry dates. All this five is Panchakhaadya. Sanskrit Panchakhaadya became Panchakajjaaya in Kannada. On this day of Sri Hanuma Jayanthi wet dal  Bele Kosambari and Paanaka Naivedya to swami and also to the devotees as a prasad will be distributed.  Today we have not seen even a single village without the Temple of Sri Hanumanthadevaru. There is a popular proverb in Kannada that :  HANUMAIRADA  UOORILLA. Thisa is our Culture, our Devotion and the Saakaara of Bhakti. The worshipping of Sri Maruti is always and every where by all Hindus. Hanumanthadevaru is none but our Sri Madhwacharyaru. Even now I still remember that our   dear father in the evening at the Saayam Deeparadhane time, called and sit before him and  will pronounce:

Prathhamo Hanumannaama Dwiteeyo Bheema Yevacha
Poorna Pragnyaha Trateeyastu Bhagavat Karya Saadhakaha
Modalaneyavaru Sri Hanumanthadevaru
Yeradaneyavaru Sri Bheemasenadevaru
Mooraneyavaru Sri Madhwacharyaru Ivare Namma
Moola Kula Gurugalu Ivarige Nanna Anantaananta Namaskaragalu

After this Pathhana we used to do Namaskara to God in our Pooja room and to our dear parents that too touching their Paadas and then start our class work and homework.  Today in the modern life style slowly we are forgetting these values. Only in doing hi bye only we are deriving pleasure and satisfaction.

Our Kannada Aadi Kavi - Maha Kavi Pampa though lived with pomp and show, with all luxuries and comforts in the Aasthhaana of King Arikesari Maha Kavi Pampa always remembered Banavasi where he spent his childhood.

Chhagada Bhogada Geyada Gottiyalampinimpina
Banavasi Deshavanu Yenthu Mareyali Naanu
Yendu Heli: Aarankusamittodam Nenevudenna Manam Banavasi Deshamam

How can I forget my mother land, whatever may be the control or the ban I will always remember BANAVASI and unable to forget. Thus MahaKavi expressed his gratitude to the Golden Path on which he has walked so far and the  love of his native mother land Banavasi. Let us not forget the Happy and the Memorable days spent with our dears and nears who have selflessly dedicated their whole thing to us. Some times we feel  that we are carried away by the showy  and the glittering of  modern  culture, the civilization, the new relations  and so on. This wind, this dust, this sunshine only blossomed our multifarious personality  and affection. When the affectionate lives are disappeared, we cannot find any where ! Let us not forget our loving chetanas who have brought us to this present position. Let us upheld our most valuable Kind Human Values and let us not degrade them and degrade ourselves. Our Culture is built up on the strong foundation:

Brahmanta Guruhu Saakshaat Ishtam Daivam Shreeyapatihi
Acharyaha Sri Madacharyaha Santu Mae Janma Janmanee

Daily we pronounce this before we take our food. In all the Janmas let us have the Janma of  Acharya Madhwaa Janma. This is the real, the honest and the sincere offering of our gratitude to our Sri Madhwacharyaru - Sri Anandateertha Bhagavatpaadacharyaru. Let us bow and embrace to the reality of real love and affection rather than Aadambara. On the auspicious day of Sri Hanuma Jayanthi our Acharya Sri Anandateertharu is to be remembered with gratitude.

Today on this day of Hanuma Jayanthi  the Rathhotsava of  Gaanadhalu Panchamukhi  near  Mantralaya will be celebrated.  Lot of Devotees will participate every year.  Maximum Rathhotsava and Jaatras  will be held during this Chaitra Maasa on the day of Sri HanumatJayanthi. So Hampi Hunnime - Chitra Pournima is special and unique to our Mantralaya Devotees. Our Mantralaya Sri GuruRaghavendrateertharu performed Tapa and Japa at the sanctum of Panchamukhi and attained the Saakshaat Darshana of Tirumale Swami Sri Srinivasadevaru. So Panchamukhi a very Siddhi and Holy Place. Bichali and Panchamukhi are situated face to face at a distance of 17 kilometeres. Our Gururayaru walked on this land between Bichali and Panchamukhi. So the devotees of Mantralaya when ever they undertake the Mantralaya Yaatra, first they take the  Darshana of our Rayaru and complete and conclude the Yaatra after visiting Panchamukhi and Bichali Japadakatti Ek Shila Brindavana and return  to their homes with gratitude and satisfaction.

On the day of Sri Hanumat Jayanthi Special Poona , Panchamruta Abhisheka, Alankara, Laksha Kadabu Naivedya to  Sri Sripadaraja Pratishthhaapita Sri Narahari Narasimhadevaru, Sri Vyasaraja Pratishthhaapita Sri Praanadevaru, Sri Jitamitrateertha Pratishthhaapita Sri Sheshadevaru, Sri Raghavendraru  Pratishthhaapita Sri Praanadevaru, Bichali Nagappa and Bichalemma.

Dear devotees it is very important to know that our Bichali Japadakatti Appanacharya came to know that Rayaru is entering the Brindavana on Shraavana Bahula Dwiteeya, on that day only He composed the Gurustotra through Aashukavitva owing to the devotional ecstasy that too while crossing the Tungabhadra river when it was overflowing with full spate. Appanacharya's love, affection and Gurubhakti was such. When he reached Mantralaya he saw only the Brindavana  and cannot see Gururayaru :

Yo Bhaktyaa GuruRaghavendra Charana Dwandam Smaran Yaha Pathhet
Stotram Divyamidam Sadaa Nahi Bhavet Tasya Asukham Kinchana
Kinthivaashthharthha Samruddhireva KamalaaNathaPrasaadodayaat
Keertihi Digviditaa Vibhootiratulaa ---------------------------

And cannot spell out anything more with tears performed the Sashtaanga Namaskara to his dear Guru before the Brindavana. With loud voice amidst all the devotees gathered there at that time listened  SAAKSHEE HAYASTOTRAHEE from the Brindavana and our Mantralaya Sri Raghavendrateertharu completed the Gurustotra by saying :

SAAKSHEE HAYASTOTRAHEE

Rayaru was chanting Sri Hayagreeva Stotra at that time and it Sri Vayudevaru who asked our Rayaru to Pronounce this and complete the world famous Gurustotra. The gathered devotees amazed to listen and said:

Krutam Stotram Idam Punyam Sri Mat Bhihi Appanaabhidaihi

So along with Sri Narahari Rama Krishna Vedavyasadevaru our Vayudevaru Sri Maruti Sri Hanumanthadevaru Acharya Sri Madhwa Gurugalu is also Sannihita at the Divya Neela Bhavya Brindavana of our Rayaru in Mantralaya.

So World Devotees  our Dasaru has given a universal call to all of us:

MUNCHE MAADIRI NEEVU MANCHALE YAATRE

H.H.Sri Sushameendrateertharu very popular as the Nadedaaduva Rayaru, the Poorvaraadhane falls on Chitra Pournima only. What a Holy and Sacred Maha Mahima Yativarenya is our 38th.Pontiff of our VidyaMutt.

With all this we are fortunate enough to know threw Utsava on the day of Hampi Hunnime Chitrapournima Hanuma Jayanthi at Hampi, Anegundi,Panchamukhi,Bichali and Manchali
