A brief introduction about Ibharamapura Sri Appa and the incident that happened during the days of His Holiness:
Sri Sudharmendrateertharu - 30th.Pontiff
of Jagadguru SriMadhwacharya's Moola Maha Samasthhana and a recent Miracle
of Appavara Darshana to a great Devotee are described in Mantralaya(363).
Born in the Punyagarbha of Sri Obalacharya - Sri Ahobalacharya and Sow. Krishnabai a noble and Satvika couple in Ibharamapura. When Appa was a child, Krishnabai used to go to Mantralaya to listen Pravachana and Sri Harikeertana along with Baala Krishna. Young Krishna listened carefully and enjoyed the Pravachana. Responded properly to the Pravachana. All were amazed to see him. Ibharamapura is situated amidst the Gift of Mother Natures abundant trees, paddy fields and hilly rocks. Very fertile land. Appa was born with a silver spoon. This Ibharampura became dear to Appa and cherished and nourished a lot.
Sri Obalacharya always desired that his son Krishna should become an extraordinary great scholar. Inspite of pursuing Krishna showed much interest in playing only. Once father actually scolded for not showing any inclination towards studies. That day Young Krishnarya(Appa) went far from Ibharamapura and sat in the midst of trees on a small hilly rock. Complete profound and immense silence prevailed there. One can notice only the blow of the wind and the flying of the dried leaves. At that time a strange man came and sat by the side of Krishna. Asked him why are you sitting here? Father scolded for not studying so sitting here in a pensive mood. Then the strange man said do not afraid, I am none but Ashwathhaamacharya came here to Bless you ! Then Sri Ashwathhaama asked him to close his eyes. Krishna closed. Experienced that he is from a different World and came here to do some good cause. Touched the Uttamanga(head). Krishnarya became a new man. Go home I have Blessed you said Sri Ashwathhaamacharyaru. The son came home. Parents felt happy. From the very next day Krishna became a scholar, a pandit, attained all the knowledge of Chaturveda and Madhwa Shastra Sampanna.
It is quite amazing to know that Several times Appavaru has done the Paarayana, Pathhana, Paatha and Pravachana of Sri Jaiteertha Teekakrutpaadaru’s Sudha. There is no exaggeration to say Ibharamapura Appa is the only one who has done countless times of Sudha Granthha Paarayana. Owing to this Appa was always smelling the abundant pleasing fragrance of perfume. Even the bathed water of Appa was full of fragrance. That cured several deadly diseases. Such a great Gnyana Aparokshagnyana Appa attained the Siddhi and the Anugraha of Sri Ashwathhamacharyaru, Panchamukhi Praanadevaru, Jaiteertha Teekakrutpaadaru and Mantralaya Sri Raghavendrateertharu very soon. Many devotees have experienced the smell of the fragrance when Appa appeared in their dream even to this day.
Dear Devotees one more interesting thing is that Ibharamapura Appa a great Chetana with full of Sri Hari Bhakti. Performed the greatest task of Sri Harisarvottama and Vayujeevottama. Appa liked horse riding. Daily used to come Mantralaya to take the Darshana of Rayaru and also talked with Rayaru who is sitting below the Brindavana. The day when Appa did not come Mantralaya Sri Raghavendrateertharu used to go to Ibharamapura to see Appa. Rayaru has actually said in the dream of the devotees who were residing and performing the Sankalpa Seva, that tomorrow for certain hours I will not be here, as I am going to Ibharamapura and will be back after certain hours. This shows how dear was Appa to our Rayaru.
Appas Aradhana and Rayaru’s Aradhana comes in the same Shraavana difference of only two weeks - fourteen days. This also indicates that how they are close, cordial in Blessing the world Devotees. Dear Devotees now I wish to share two Miracles that happened in Mantralaya in those days of Appa and of today that happened here recently two days back in the world amidst us.
As already told Ibharamapura Appavaru was visiting Mantralaya. All the residents of Mantralaya, SRSMUTT and the Sevaarthhis recognized Appavaru and used to perform Namaskara and take the Blessings. Once it so happened, that when Sri Ganeshabhattaru did Namaskara with great respect, Appa said, Oh! Ganeshabhattare till today you are saluting me, but from tomorrow onwards I have to salute you with great respect and regard. Though all heard did not care much! But Sri Ganeshabhattaru worried why Appa said like this. Soon Sri Ganeshabhattaru received a telegram from Nanjanagud from the 29th. Pontiff H.H.Sri Sugnyanendrateertharu that start immediately to Nanjanagu. As per the telegram soon he reached. Sri Sugnyanendrateertharu was about to attain the lotus feet of Sri Hari.So the Swamiji made Sri Ganeshabhattaru as his Successor and made him the 30th.pontiff of our SRSMUTT and named as Sri Sudharmendrateertharu.Ibharamapura Appa Trikaalagnyani. Sri Sudharmendrateertharu remembered, recollected the matter what all Appa has said and conveyed the same to all the gathered mass in Mantralaya. Such a great Stalwart Devotee is our Ibharamapura Appa.I am writing is but not was. Because Appa is with us today Blessing and Protecting ALWAYS.
Ibharamapuras Appa Aradhana is tomorrow. Appa
has given his Divya Darshana to a great devotee yesterday only. Said
that I am with you always. Follow the right path of the Sadaachaara of
our Acharya Sri Madhwaru, act according to Sachchaashthra and as per the
circumstances perform Maanasa Yatra and purify your heart and do your duty
sincerely and honestly. I will take care of you always. These are the wordings
of Appa when Ibharamapura Appa offered his Pratyaksha Darshana as
per the Prerana of Mantralaya Sri Raghavendrateertharu and Bichali Japadakatti
Sri Appanacharyaru, though it was not India. Every year Ibharamapura
Appa gives Darshana to this Devotee. Last year in Shesh Roopa in front
of main door of the house.
Sri Yogi Narayanacharyas Stotra about Ibharamapura Appa is quite appropriate and timely and at the same time the Stotra of Surpur Sri Anandadasaru is very famous as Bhaktaabheeshtaprada Krishnarya Ashtakam.
