Background

Meaning

Sri Jayateertharu is the sixth saint of Sri Madacharya, fully well versed with the culture of devotion,knowledge and Vairagya. Jayarayaru is the Amsha of Arjuna,is already explained.

Lord Sri Krishna has already proclaimed in Mahabharata that the pandavas are the dearest to Him and they are his very life(Prana). Sri Krishna was so helpful to pandavas even , used to care their horses.Those who worship Sri Hari with flowers,in turn Sri Hari will give everything to them. Sri PurandaraDasaru has said in his songs(padas).Sri Krishna loved Arjuna like anything is noticed by Sri Narada. Sri Narada asked the Lord why he is loving  Arjuna ? so much and why the word NARA-NARAYANA is so popular?. Krishna madeup his mind to reply at the proper time.

Once Krishna and Arjuna went for hunting.Owing to the hot sun Arjuna soon tired and desired to take rest. Sri Krishna took the head of Arjuna on his laps and asked him to sleep.Soon Arjuna was in deep slumber.Sri Narada came and surprised to see this.Sri Krishna asked Narada to take the head of Arjuna on his laps as Krishna was feeling thirsty. Narada obeyed and did the same.Arjuna even in the sub-conscious state all the parts of his body were pronouncing the name of Sri Krishna.Then and there Narada realized the Bhakti of Arjuna and the care of Sri Krishna.

This Great Arjuna’s Amsha is our Malakhed Jayateertharu. Fairly rich, courageous and an excellent horse rider.
By the prerana of Sri Hari renounced the entire wealth and position and took SANYASA from Sri Akshobhyateertharu to upheld the philosophy and the values of Sri Anandateertharu.Jayateertharu is honoured and respected  by Mantralaya Raghavendra teertharu and also by ball the saints.

We are really grateful to Sri Jayateertha Guruvarya. His place in Dwaita Siddhanta is unique and special.
