Background

Meaning

Yergol is very near to Malkhed about 32 Miles.Yergol is situated in Gurmitkal Taluk of Gulbarga district. A small holy place , full of trees with natural surroundings.Profound and immense silence is prevailing in that entire area.Jayateertharu selected such a peaceful place,lonely,calm and quiet, where rarely people come,free from all disturbances. There is cave at the bottom of the hilly rock.

Jayateertharu sat in the cave to undertake the commentary work of Shree Anandateertharu. That cave became a sacred platform to acquire the complete anugraha of Shree Saraswati for composing the works. Durgamata in witness of Shree Prana Devaru came and gave writing materials to SrJayateertharu. Jayateertharu started writing the works,without sufficient food.Asked his desciples to take care of themselves, did Shree RamaDevar pooja and went on writing and writing the commentaries. To survive sometimes he took Shesha Roopa(became snake) and consumed only oxygen as his food. As Arjuna had full control and mastery over his sleep-so our Jayateertharu had Arjuna Amsha and control over food and fasting.Thus completed commentary to the works of Shree Madhvacharya

Jayarayaru is really great. Once Vidyaranyaru came near the cave asked in sanskrit ‘Kor Bhravan’, Jayarayaru replied  ‘Sappoham’.Where is r (Refa) , asked Vidyaranyaru? Jayateertharu said ‘The R which I have to use is used by you’.That much sharpness Shree Jayarayaru had. Vidyaranyaru  praised and honoured for the way in which Jayarayaru  has composed the Teekas. History has not forgotten these matters which are always the books of all times.

Yergol’s immense silence and abode of peace attracted Shree Jayarayaru. Yergol became full of sanctity Kshetra by Shree Jayarayaru.

Yergol is situated in between Mantralaya and Malkhed, A Sacred place o the Madhvas.These three Punya Kshetras are propagating and proclaiming the essence of  ‘Shree Anand Teertharu Philosophy’ to the whole World.
