Mantralaya-319

( terrible horrifying flood  and Miracle at Bichali )

Date : Oct 10 2009

Background

The terrible horrifying flood of Tungabhadra caused havoc and panic to Mantralaya and Bhikshaalaya - Bichali and the Miracle of Mantralaya Sri Raghavendrateertha Yatiraat are described in Mantralaya(319).

Meaning

Just the Navaratri Festival, Sri Srinivasa Kalyanotsava and  our great Guru  SriManMadhwacharyara Jayanti :

Prathhamo Hanumannama Dwiteeyo Bheema Yevacha
Poornapragnyaha Trateeyastu Bhagavat Karya Saadhakaha

Sri Anandateertha Bhagavatpaadacharya  Jayanti celebrated with devotion and grandeur through out the world where ever our satvika devotees are residing. After the Samaaropa of this great festival like a forceful thunder and storm rain began incessantly. Witnessed the terrific dance Rudra Naatya Nartana of Varunadeva, water and water every where and all over. Added to this all the 32 crest gates were opened as the inflow was too high. All the villages on the bank side of the river were washed away, leaving the people homeless and destitute . Forceful water of Tungabhadra flooded the Most holy Navavrundavana at Anegundi  sweeping and swallowing what ever is found. Came to Bichali entered the whole Bichali and encircled the entire land and the houses. Cattle and public ran away  searching the safe place to survive. The  flood made the Sacred Japadakatti as though it is in the middle of the river Tungabhadra. In Mantralaya Tungabhadra water forcefully  entered in all the places. Mother Tungabhadra entered the Praakaara of Sri Mutt and said Oh ! Great Yativarya Bhavya Divya Neela Brindavana Mandira You are sitting below the Brindavana with Yoga Siddhi in the long Japa of Sri Hari  always protecting the devotees, as the devotees cannot see with their naked eyes. So our Bichali Appanacharya has said Rayaru as  GUHAANTARNIVESHA. Bhaktavatsala Sri Raghavendrateertha Yativarenya you are really great ! You have  composed, described and clarified the importance of  the rivers in NADEE TAARATAMYA. The most auspicious  Saint of Tungabhadra Yard : Mangalada Tungeya Angalada Mahatma no one is equal to you. In this way Tungamma personally came and praised Mantralaya Rayaru.

Another thing  is that right from Shraavana maasa as there was no  rain, lot of Bhajan, prayer, pooja, Puraana and several traditional rituals were conducted all over the country very seriously. For this act Varunadeva was highly pleased and showered satisfactory rains. That turned into incessant heavy rains causing the overflow of all the rivers and flood. As we all are fully aware that except Sri Hari no one can withdraw once the Vara is bestowed. So Rayaru prayed to Sri Hari sitting below the Brindavana in Mantralaya to stop the rain and the flood of Tungabhadra. So reduced the severity and normalcy prevailed in Bichali and Manchali after two days. Dear devotees do not say that the Pooja of Sri Moola Brindavana was not for two days. But on these two days, owing to the Brindavana pratishthhaapana of Sri Sushameendrateertharu , WHO is now Uoordhwa Mukha. Bichali Sri Appanacharyara Avataari Sri Sushameendrateertharu performed the pooja seva of Sri Rayaru and acquired abundant punya and so the 38th.pontiff  Sri Sushameendrateertharu is Blessing all of us today. No BRAKE IN POOJA OF RAYARU under any circumstances.

Uttanooru Sri Gopaladasru has said in one of the padas:

Dina Dinakilli Nutana Poojegalaaguvau
Dina Dinakilli Nutana Utsavagalaaguvau
Dina Sapta Varusha Dina Pariyantara
Dinakara Shata Teja JanaNathha Taanindu Janara Paaliudakkanumaana
Salladu GUNAGANA Paripurna Gopalaithal
Anoraneeya Yembuvage Samanaaro Jagadolage

For Seven hundred years Nitya Pooja, Utsava,Anna Santarpane  will continuously go on for the sake of the Devotees of Rayaru.

There is one more Miracle I wish to share with you all today. A Devotee by hearing the havoc and panic caused by flood and incessant rain in Bhikshaalaya and Mantralaya, decided to Pray to Rayaru. Sri Raghavendra Gurustotra composed by  the dearest devotee of Rayaru  Bichali Sri Appanacharya Ashtottara Pathana, after that the Praarthhana Gadya

Sri Ramaaraadhaka Punya Murty Sri Raghavendrateertha Gurusarvabhouma
Tungabhadra Tata Mantralaya Priya Vaasa Bhikshaalaya Sri Appanarya Priya
Guru Raghavendra Nitya Jyoti Roopa Darshana Pradaata Bhakta Vatsala
Karuna Samudra Sri Mantralaya Vidya Matha Yativarenya Bhuvi Japtuhu
Tava Sankeertanam Sadaa Sarva Kaaleshu Maam Raksha Sri Raghavendrateertha
Prabho Raksha.

And the Quick Siddhi Mahamantra:

Bichali Sri Appanacharya Priya Mantralaya Sri Raghavendrateertha
Gurubhyo Namaha

From morning to evening more than eight hours went on. One devotee actually observed Upavaasa. At the Samaropa of this holy pathhana the devotee did the pathhana of

Namaami Dootam Ramasya Sukhadam Cha Suradrumam

Composed by Sri Vyasarajaru. At that time the devotee experienced that Sri Praanadevaru gave a saffron shesha vastra to Rayaru. Rayaru sinply threw to the sky. It became like an arch of Rainbow that touched  and covered from Mantralaya to Bichali. It denotes that  our Karunaalu Sri Raghavendrateertharu came from Mantralaya to  Bichali to protect the dearest sanctum of Japadakatti.

Though the water  of Tungabhadra looked like the ocean drowning almost everything, Rayaru protected the Sacred idols of Japadakatti Sri Narasimhadevaru,Sri Praanadevaru, Sri Sheshadevaru and the Ek Shila Brindavana. Devotees see the Miracle several houses, trees, bridge, steel beams have washed away, the Sanctum of Bichali Japadakatti is safe. The store room, dining hall, cooking room, Go Shaala  have fallen and washed   away, the Ek Shila Brindavana silver Naamas are quite safe, not even fallen. Usually during the time of Alankara  a mere touch is sufficient to fall the Naamas, eyes. Even the Naamas and the eyes of Sri Narasimhadevaru  were also safe. Looked as though pooja is done just before.

Bhaktaanugraha Premi Rayaru came from Mantralaya to Bichali and protected the Ek Shila Brindavana installed by his greatest devotee Bichali Sri Appanacharyaru. Not even a single damage or crack to the sacred idols and the Ekshila Brindavana. The Forceful flow of water could not even shake as Rayaru was sitting and holding the Brindavana which is simply open to the mother nature.

Another Miracle when several houses almost 90% of the houses are reduced to dust, but the 400 years old house of Appanacharya caused minor damage and thus repair will set right. Bichali Japadakatti is a great Siddhi Kshetra a total sum of more than one lakh Punya. Japadakatti and Appanacharya’s house are our treasure of wealth and prosperity of devotional values. It is the Divine centre of Sri Harisarvottama and Vayujeevottama. We have to preserve in the original style, without any renovation and maintain the originality and pass it on peacefully to the next younger generation. Dear world devotees let us restore Bichali in the best possible way for pooja,Annadaana and Sadaachaara in accordance with our Acharya Philosophy and thus gain the Anugraha of Bhktaanugraha Premi GuruRayaru.
