The
divine personality of Sri Vijayeendrateertharu - the
pioneer of our Rayara Mutt Vidya
Mutt as Sri Vibudhendrateertharu and the
extraordinary achievements of our 15th. Pontiff Sri Vijayeendrateertharu are
described in Mantralaya(300), I feel it is my privilege and Punya
to share with you all about Sri Vijayeendrateertharu
in the 300th. Series of MANTRALAYA.

This Mantralaya Series(300)
is the GuruSmarane - Guruvandana
of our Sri Vijayeendrateetharu. A
great Avatara Chetana born
with a strong Vaasana - desire and will to perform
the pooja of Sri MoolaRamadevaru.
In Yergol
(District Yadgir- Karnataka - India), Sri Ramachandrateertharu the 10th.pontiff of our Sri SriMadcharya Peetha gave Sanyasa Ashrama to Sri Raghunathabhattaru a great and profound scholar who was
well versed in the debate of Dwaita and Adwaita, named as Sri Vibudhendrateertharu
and went to Kasi for the debate as per the order of
his Guru. Soon after his return came to know that his Guru has entered the Brindavana in Yergol and there
was a new successor of Sri Ramachandrateertharu Sri Vidyanidhiteertharu. Though attained Sanyasa
by his Guru, lost the opportunity of worshipping Sri MoolaRamadevaru. Felt sorry and did not meddle with the new
successor. Sri Vibudhendrateertharu at that time only
desired that he has to be born again to avail the pooja
of Sri MoolaRamadevaru. Sri Vibudhendrateertharu
had an omen that his guru's guru will acquire Sri MoolaRamadevaru
in the Vibudhenrateertha Mutt and thus possible to
worship. Straight from Yergol on the same day after the Brindavana
Darshana of his guru went to Ahobala
worshipped Sri Narasimhadevaru,On
his tour when Sri Vibudhendrateertharu camped on the
bank of the river got a dream that Sri Narasimhadevaru with sixteen hands appeared in the dream that too in procession from the river.
That idol is still in our Rayara Mutt.Even
now it is being worshipped in the Mutt once in a year.
This is a record in the
"ARCHAGATIKRAMAHA". then came to Mantralaya to visit the famous and the most sacred spot
where Sri Prahladarajaru performed the Yaaga. Provided financial stability to the Mutt Sri Vibudhendrateertha Mutt, received several villages,lands as Datti to the Mutt. Struggled a lot to set up the Mutt and
when time came joined Sri Haripaada in Tirunelliveli on the bank of Tamraparni
river and gave Ashrama to Ananthappa and named as Sri Jitamitraru
and asked to acquire Sri MoolaRama.
Sri Jitamitraru
gave ashrama to Sri Raghunandanateertharu.
Sri Raghunandanateertharu gave ashrama
to Sri Surendrateertharu. Sri Surendrateertharu
during sanchara came to Hampi.
Sri Vyasarajaru invited Sri Surendrateertharu.
Sri Vyasarajaru
had a shishya very smart handsome and intelligent his
name was Sri Vishnuteertharu. Through Aparokshagnyana Sri Vyasarajaru
came to know near Hampi, there is a village called Nagalapura, there a boy is born and his name is Vitthala,
and he is none but Sri Vibudhendrateertharu. Sri Vyasarajaru named as Sri Vishnuteertharu
taught all the Vedas,Shastras
and all the entire works of
Sri SriMadacharyaru. Sri Vyasarajaru
described the whole Poorvajanma details of Sri Vibudhendrateertharu and said accept Sri Vishnuteertha as your shishya.
Sri Surendrateertharu the fourteenth
pontiff of our Acharya parapara
happily accepted Sri Vishnuteertharu as a great gift
and boon from our great Sri Vyasarajaru
and named as Sri Vijayeendrateertharu.
Sri Surendrateertharu taught all the 64
arts (Kala) and made him efficient. With great affection Sri Vyasarajaru bade farewell to Sri Vishnuteertharu
- Sri Vijayeendrateertharu along with the Vibudhendrateertha
Mutt Swamiji Sri Surendrateertharu.
Sri Surendrateertharu asked Vijayeendrateertharu to go to Kumbhakonam
as the Shaivas were strong. At the same time Sri Surendrateertharu asked Sri Vijayeendrateertharu
to make his successor a youth by name Sri Narayanacharya
and named him as Sri Sudheendrateertharu. Sri Sudheendrateertharu was none but Sri Jitamitraru.
As per the saying of Sri Surendrateertharu
Sri Sudheendrateertharu stayed in Hampi
to guide the Emperor of Karnataka along with Sri Vyasarajaru.
So Sri Vijayeendra
- Sri Sudheendra - Sri Raghavendrateertha
are very very important in
the history of our Rayara Mutt. It is heartening to
know that Sri Vyasarajaru again took avatara as Sri Venkatanathabhattaru
and became Sri Raghavendrateertharu.
Sri Vijayeendrateertharu
in Kumbhakonam did a yeoman service.All
the stalwarts of Adwaita accepted the verdict of Sri Vijayeendrateertharu and agreed to the philosophy of Sri Madhwacharya
and joined in the Jayakaara of Sri Harisarvottama and Vayujeevottama INCLUDING Sri Appayya
Dixit. Though defeated in the long debate of days together, Appayya
Dixit was treated nicely and became a great friend to Sri Vijayeendrateertharu
in Kumbhakonam. Even the Prativaadis
defeated Prativaadis were presented gifts,shawls etc. With a kind and
affectionate nature Sri Vijayeendrateertharu won the
heart of the people of Kumbhakonam. Kumbhakonam became very dear to Sri Vijayeendrateertharu.
The credit of opening the Vidya Peetha
in our Mutt goes to Sri Vijayeendrateertharu. That Vidya Peetha is now Sri Gurusarvabhouma Sanskrit Paathashaala
in Mantralaya. Our Mutt also got the name as Vidya Mutt during the days of Sri Vijayeendrateertharu.
Sri Vijayeendrateertharu
has written 104 Granths, out of which more than sixty
are now available. Thus efforts are in progress to find out the rest of the granthas. Dear Devotees we are proud and happy to say that
the period of Sri Vijayeendrateertharu was the golden
period of our Rayara Mutt. As Sri Vibudhendrateertharu
is the founder, pioneer of our Mutt - Rayara Mutt.
The peak time of our
Rayara Mutt which availed much more sweet fruits
during the period of our Sri Raghavendrateertharu.
