It is appropriate to remember that on this auspicious Ugadi only Mantralaya Series Completed the Fifth Year and stepped into the Sixth Year by the Anugraha and the Prerana of Mantralaya Sri Raghavendrateertharu and Bichali Sri Appanacharyaru. Pray to continue the mega series regularly.
It is interesting to know that the noble and the sacred work started in San-Diego, on the bank of Pacific Ocean - Shanta Mahasagara. My sons and daughter in laws encouraged me for the noble work, my grandsons and my better half equally responded and their co-operation is highly solicited. It is very important to mention that IGR and IGRU are responsible to reach the Series to the devotees of the world. Webmaster Raja Raman a great devotee of Rayaru became Ram, very near and dear to me. I sincerely and humbly express my gratitude on this day of UGADI.
As already the devotees know that https://patwari.org took its birth to find all the articles of Mantralaya in one place. it is fully dedicated to Sri RaghavendrateerthaYatirat Gurusarvabhoumaru, though the website is the name of my family.
Devotees I am a Devotee of Devotees, Pray to Rayaru to continue the Seva and accept the Seva in the welfare of Manukula.
The importance of Ugadi and the auspicious Ugadi Celebrations in Mantralaya and Bichali are described in Mantralaya(283).

The Eastern side of the sky is completely filled with red colour. Early morning the day is about to blossom, pleasing cold wind is slowly passing through the thick green trees. A New Day is about to blossom very shortly, Arunodaya will take place. The Dawn of the New Year Hosa Samavatsara Virodheenaama Samvatsara. The rays of the Sun are in full competition to touch the sacred water of Tungabhadra. The birds are making noise and singing with sweet voice. The cows and the calves are crying Ambaa Ambaa, they touch their body with each other and simply lick with their tongues and express love and affection. The calves are happily jumping round their mother cows. Activeness is filled and found every where. The cold breeze is filling zeal and enthusiasm. The New Year reminds that Sarvadhaareenaama Samavatsara has given room to Virodheenaama Samvatsara. The New Year is blossoming. Sacred Tungabhadra river is flowing forcefully from Hampi, Anegundi(NavaVrundavana), after paying due regards to Devi Huligemma crossing Munirabad - Huligi. The river is flowing through the rocks and stones via Bichali and Mantralaya maintained the same force constantly and thus making the sound and pronouncing Sri Harisarvottama and Vayujeevottama.
Our Sri Vyasarajaru( the previous janma of our Mantralaya Rayaru) has really experienced the divine forceful flow of Tungabhadra river has said in the famous stotra of Sri Yantroddhaara Hanumanthadevaru:
Vaasinam Chakrateerthasya Dakshinasthha
Girow Sadaa
Tungambodhi Tarangasya Vaatena Parishobhitae
Yantroddhara Sri Praanadevaru is residing near Chakrateertha at the southern part of the hill in Hampi. Swami is shining happily and enjoying the cold breeze blowing through the water waves of Tungabhara river which are equal to the waves of the sea.
We Indians Hindus follow all the events of calendar as per our Panchanga, Tithi,Nakshatra, Raashi, Yoga,Karana,Vaara, So for us Chaandramaana Ugadi is the New Year Day Celebration. Uga means year Aadi means the first day. Ugadi means the first day of the New Year. We strongly believe that the things done on this day will continue through out year, and will have the impact also through out the year. So as far as possible we try our level best to observe this Festival of New Year Ugadi in the most jovial decent and devotional way:
Shataayur Vajra Dehaaya Sarva Sampatkaraayacha|
Sarvaarishta Nivaaranaaya Nimbaka Dala Bhakshanam||
To live for hundred years with good health, to acquire all the good and the wealth, and to get rid off all the evils we have to eat the flowers of Bevina Mara. Neem tree, Margosa on this auspicious day without fail. This tradition is continued from the time immemorial. We have attained this life of human being Manuja Janma by the Blessings of Mantralaya Rayaru. That too born in the WOMB OF THE FOLLOWERS OF our great Sri Acharya Sri Madwacharya Tatva Philosophy, acquiring all the goodness by the Anugraha of Mantralaya Rayaru. So it is our first and the prime duty to remember our Rayaru on this day of Ugadi. We pray to Rayaru to protect us just as Sondur Sri Krishnavadhootaru has said in Sri Raghavendra Tantra:
Paapeenaam Agraganyoham Dayaloonaam Tvamagraneehee
Tvam Vinaa Nahi Jaanena Anyam Maam Adya Uddhaara
Kaaranam
In this way we have to pray and perform our Atma Nivedana. I am the top in the list of sinners and you are the top in the list of kind heart - Dayaloo. Among the kind you are the kindest. So it is our first duty to do this on this auspicious day of Ugadi.
Devotees, you will listen the Ambaa Ambaa shouting from the Goshaala of Mantralaya and from the GoShaala of Bhikshalaya - Bichali. The calves walk hither and thither side of the Japadakatti and they will simply encircle Sri Badadha Ramacharya Sri Appanacharya Vamshastha - Archaka of Ek Shila Brindavana who is sitting under the thick shadow of the Tamarind tree. The calves simply spread their skin of their necks(GangeTogalu) and exhibit pleasure and satisfaction.
Every day large number of devotees are coming to Bichali Japadakatti to seek the Darshana of Rayara Ek Shila Brindavana. The Mantralaya devotees after Visiting Mantralaya they come to Bichali in streams. As soon as they reach Bichali straight down they go Tungabhadra take a holy dip in the pure water, some devotees wash their feet, with purity they take the Divya Darshana with great devotion and offer prayers. Every day Sri Raghavendrateertharu sharp at Braahmee Muhurta come to Bichali from Mantralaya. Take the holy dip in Tungabhadra which is flowing by the side of Japadakatti. After the holy dip Rayaru sits for Aahneeka and Anushtaana at the Japadakatti Ek Shila Brindavana and after completing all this Rayaru goes back to Mantralaya and enters the Divya Bhavya NeelaBrindavana. So this is the sacred routine of our Sri GuruRayaru. Our devotees are completely aware of this, So they are visiting Bichali after Manchali. This is a continuous process of punya and enhance and enrich their punya. The devotees will come to know all the details pertaining to Bhikshalaya Bichali - Japadakatti - Sri Moola Rama Devaru by Srii Badadha Ramacharya the Vamshastha of Bichali Sri Appanacharyaru and take his Blessings. Gouramma will be sitting and selling there only, with the basket full of plantains. The devotees will purchase the plantains and offer them to the cows and calves and feed them properly. I am really amazed to see this unique style of GoVatsa Pooja and GoGraasa on the sacred soil of Bichali Sri Appanacharyas Bhikshalaya - Bichali.
Dear Devotees today is Ugadi - ChaandramaanaUgadi. At the sanctums of Mantralaya and Bhikshalaya the devotees whole heartedly pray and acquire the Anugraha and desire the prosperity through out the year. In our Rayara Mutt Vidya Mutt from the Ugadi day itself Sri Rama Navami Navaratri Utsava begins. Wearing of New clothes Navavastra Dhaarane Listening of Panchanga Panchanga Shravana:
Yaha Shrunoti Naro BhaktyaVatsaramSa Sukhee
Bhavet
Tatraadow SaangopangamVatsarasya Brahmanaha
Janma Phalam
Yae Shrunvanti Tae Kratu Phalam Bhajante Naatra Samshayaha
As a token of and as a symbol of SAMARASA in life we have take Bevu Bella on the day of Ugadi. See how our ancestors have made the Festival meaningful. They have observed even the minute things which counts more in life.
On Trateeya Tadige through out the month of Chaitra Maasa Chaitra Gouri Pooja performed by the Sowbhagyavatis as a symbol of Dampati Pooja through out the month, if not daily at least on Tuesday, Friday and the Festival days which appear during that period. Thus the joy of summer is celebrated during this ChaitraMaasa Chaitra is nothing but Chetana : Chaitra Chetana: the entire environment of the season will encourage though the Sun is blazing hot and severe. Satvikas perform the Daana - Poorna Kumbha of brass or copper pot filled with water. Every where Cold drinking arrangements are also made by the satvikas. For this arrangement we call in kannada as Aravatige. In Bhikshalaya - Bichali right from RathaSaptami Aravatige Prapaadaana the cold drinking water packets were ready and made available to the devotees to drink. This is Prapaadaana Aravatige. So in Mantralaya we find Nityotsava. As our great devotee of Rayaru Sri Gopaladasaru has said:
Dina Dinakilli Nutan Poojegalaaguavu
Dina Dinakilli Nutana Utsavagalaaguvavu
Januma Saphala Tamma Jananava Neeguvaru
We find always Festivals in Mantralaya.
On the day of Ugadi Indians where ever they live they get up very early on the day of Ugadi, they come out from their houses and go park ,fields and garden to see the most auspicious bird Saambaara Crow(Saambaara Kaage), we call this bird as Shakuna pakshi. The bird almost looks like the crow, but its wings are not black but of golden colour. Even the calling also is different with different voice. So all will be very eager to look at this bird on the day of Ugadi.
Dear world devotees, here is a devotee who has planted coconut trees round the house. When ever the wind blows, the long leaves of coconut will do the Chaamara Seva to the mother nature. In the coconut trees the auspicious birds are living peacefully, flying in the yard of this house. In the coconut trees bee have made a big beehive thus making a humming sound and prepare honey. Tulasi, Kanakambara, Jasmine,Paarijaata, Daasavaala and all kinds of flowers in accordance with the season are readily available for the Pooja of this Mantralaya devotee. The meaningful life of this Rayara devotee is really praise worthy. Daily he will be listening the voice and seeing the Shakuna Pakshi - auspicious bird. On the day of Ugadi this devotee will see the shakuna pakshi in the yard of his house only. To that lucky man we can say that owing to all this he will be experiencing the Nitya Ugadi on all the 365 days of the year. This sort of Dharma Samanvaya Loukika and Paaramaarthika and the divine routine is nothing but the gift of Mantralaya Sri Raghavendrateertharu. With all this the New Year Ugadi has blossomed fully with the bright rays of the Sun. Virodheenaama Samvatsara started.
With humble joy and happiness let us pray to Mantralaya Sri Raghavendrateertha Gurusarvabhoumaru doing the pathana of the phalastuti of Sri Raghavendrateertharu’s Mangalashtaka composed by Bichali Sri Appanacharyaru:
