The historical procession of BhaataSangraha
of Sri Raghavendrateertharu in Madhurai and the manner in which King Tirumalanayaka
and Minister Pandit Neelakantha Dixit honored are described
in Mantralaya(278).
At this point the king Tirumalanayaka
with folded hands expressing due respect and regard, openly announced
his strong desire that he intends to have the grand procession of
BHAATTASANGRAHA - the great work of Poorva Meemaamsa on the
elephant with golden Ambari requested Sri Raghavendrateertharu to
accept this felicitation and the honour of Madhurai Saying this the king
looked with smile to his minister and Pandit Neelakantha Dixit. The entire
audience of the Vidwat Sabha plunged in joy and with all cheers claps,
they shouted Jayakaara Om Sri GuruRaya, the seventeenth pontiff of
Vidya Mutt is none but a divine chetana. Then Rayaru said ok it is
the Prerana of Sri MoolaRamadevaru and in accordance with the will and
wish of great Parama Guru Sri Vijayeendrateertharu and Sri Sudheendrateertharu.
So Rayaru agreed with smile.
A great historical moment Amruta Muhurta to be remembered by all in Madhurai and the whole of South India. Sri Raghavendrateertha Gursarvabhoumaru addressed the concluding of the Vidwat Sabha with good humour and satisfied the entire Vidwat Sabha. The presidential Remarks of Sri Raghavendrateertharu was liked by all. Now as soon as Rayaru completed the speech, Neelakantha Dixit stood on the dias, for the procession of BhaattaSangraha Golden Prabhavali, gold and diamond ornaments - Navaratnahaara for Sri Moola Ramadevaru, big silver vessels for the use of pooja SevaKainkarya to the Mutt and two rich, fertile wealthy villages were offered to Rayaru as a gift from the people of Madhurai, A Golden Peetha, a pair of pure silk Shawls also presented. Offering all this with humble affection Neelakantha Dixit looking at Tirumalanayaka requested Rayaru to accept all this. Thus they became highly satisfied and really felt happy that they are in the shelter of Rayaru and attained the Anugraha of GuruRayaru.
Outside the yard of the palace the elephant was fully decorated and Tirumalanayaka placed the golden Ambari on the elephant fixed the golden prabhavali in the golden Ambari to keep the world famous book BHAATTASANGRAHA. Offered innumerable variety of flowers with fragrance to BhaattaSangraha. Pandits, satvikas, bhaktas in a word we can say the whole of Madhurai was there at the procession. Tirumalanayaka's elephants, chariots, horses, soldiers accompanied and took the lead of the procession.
The complete paraphernalia of Vandi Maagadhas, stutipaathakas, all kinds of Vaadyas - Mangalavaadyas, musical instruments, bhajans of the devotees, several able pandits, sajjanas, devotees indulged in Veda Ghosha that echoed in all the directions of Madhurai. Really speaking the Yard of Madhurai was Mangalada Angala owing to our Rayaru in Madhurai. The grandeur of this great procession is beyond our imagination. King Tirumalanayaka Maha Mantri Neelakantha Dixit took the lead of the procession of BHAATTASANGRAHA. They both stood left and right holding the silver handle of Chaamara and started Chaamara Seva to BhaattaSangraha placed in the golden Ambari on the elephant. At the starting of the procession king ordered the twenty one gunshot sounds in the air from his shastraagaara as a mark of respect to Sri Raghavendrateertharu All this was arranged in a meticulous way. We can say such a procession was never before and will be never in future. The divine personality of Sri Raghavendratertharu is like this. Because all these things are immediately offered to Sri Hari. Sri Hari it is all yours, your gift, your Blessings and nothing more.
Very rare to find today. We are fully loaded with selfishness, ego, pride and prejudice. These qualities never tried to come near to our Rayaru. Sri Prahlada, SriBahleeka, Sri Vyasarajaravataari Rayaru is the only Chetana to Bless all of us today and to do our Uddhaara. Another greatest devotee Our Sondur Sri Krishnavadhootaru has said in the Siddhi Grantha Sri Raghavendra Tantra:
Paapeenaam Agraganyoham Dayaloonaam Tvamaagraneehee
Tvam Vina Nahi Jaanena
Anyam Maam Adya Uddhaara Kaaranam.
I am top in the list of sinners. Rayaru you are top in the list of kindheart. I know only this much and nothing more that you are the only Chetana to do my Uddhaara.Rayaru regarded and respected in Madurai , this reminds of our great Sri Jaiteertharu the sixth pontiff of our Sri Madhwacharya parampara's Sudha procession by Sri Vidyaranyaru. The Bhaatta Sangraha on elephant's procession walked with style and grandeur in all the streets of Madhurai the public simply shouted the heart felt slogans:
Jaya GuruRaghavendra Vidya Mutt Sri Gurusarvabhouma
Bhaatta Sangraha Kruti Rachaka Yatiraat Namo Ughe Jaya Jaya
Public was showering the flowers and Laaja(Mandaalu we say in kannada), not only this, pleasant fragrance scents were sprayed for the Bhaatta Sangraha. The whole atmosphere was pleasing and encouraging. Continuously for two hours the grand procession covered the main streets of Madhurai starting from the palace of King Tirumalanayaka. Thus the procession of Bhaatta Sangraha marked a new era in Madhurai. As Rayaru proved the profound knowledge in Adwaita and all were simply amazed and stunned. the most important and the vidwatpurna grantha of Rayaru pertaining to Poorva Meemaamsa proved it is possible for none but to Rayaru only.
Sri Raghavendrateertharu a divine soul always indulged in Satya Dharma Vruta, so for those who worship Rayaru Rayaru is KALPATARU what all we desire will be given fulfilled. Those who pray Rayaru for them Rayaru is Kamadhenu, that divine cow will fulfill all our requirements. Acharya Peetha Dwaita Siddhanta Bhandaara(treasure) is our Rayaru such a Rayaru is Vidypremi, lover of knowledge and a great expert in Poorva Meemaamsa of Adwaita. What an amount of magnanimity our Rayaru is owning and readily appreciates the great qualities irrespective caste, creed, religion and nation. Rayaru is our UNIVERSAL DIVINE POWER to Bless all of us.
Bichali Sri Appanacharyaru has said about Poorva Meemaamsa at the starting of Gurustotra - Sri Raghavendra Gurustotra.
SriPurnaBodhaGuruTeerthaPayobdhiPaara
KaamaarimaakshaVishamakshaShirahaSprushantee
Poorvottara( Poorva Uttara) Amita Taranga
Charatsu Hamsa
DevaaliSevitaparaanghriPayojaLagnaa
Rayaru is like a swan Hamsa Paramahamsa Yativarenya
who is comfortable and
expertise in Poorva Meemaamsa and Uttara
Meemaamsa.
When Bichali Sri Appanacharya came to know that his beloved Guru is entering the Brindavana in Mantralaya with SaShareera, the first thing flashed to Bichali Appanacharya was that who is the next to answer Poorva Meemaamsa and uttara Meemaamsa. With grief striken could not control the separation of his Guru, decided to go to Mantralaya from the Bichali Japadakatti and to cross the Tungabhadra which was in full spate. Started the rememberance of his Guru through Ashukavita pronounced Gurustotra the First sentence is SriPurnaBodhaGuruTeerthaPayaobdhiPaara. Appanacharya was fully aware of the great Vidwat Sabha and the grand procession of Bhaatta Sangraha in Madhurai.
In short the procession of Gajaraja in Madhurai
has enhanced the grandeur of Madhurai.
