Mantralaya-265

(Rayaru Teertha Yatra - 2)

Date : Nov 27 2008

Background

The Holy Teertha Yaatra of Mantralaya Sri Raghavendrateertharu towards the southern part of our India and the scene of the ocean holy dip of Rayaru at the Kaveri Samudra Sangama are described in the mega series of Mantralaya(265).

Meaning

Our Sri GuruRaghavendra Teertha Yaatra of Kaveri Samudra Sangama( sacred Kaveri joining the ocean) is simply marvellous. The beautiful panorama fills our hearts and the divine feelings will be overflowed spontaneously. Here Kaveri joins the ocean secretly, not visible to our naked eyes. It appears that the great devotees who are indulged in the seva and the Aradhana of Sri Hari with complete involvement, they do not exhibit to others and simply surrender the entire thing to the lotus feet of Sri Hari. In the same way Sacred Kaveri joins the ocean. The ocean samudra Sheshashaayi Sri Hari is residing. So we have a strong inseparable relationship with the ocean. Our living is based on the ocean. The  wind and rain, the ebbs and tides, the grandeur and  Gaambheerya of samudra cannot be described by mere words. One has to experience. Very close and near to our life  providing food and also owning abundant valuable Ratnas and pearls. The endless ocean Anantate Rayaru impressed a lot, forgotten himself in the realm of  bhakti. The resident of the Kaveri bank  Kumbhakonam, Gururayaru became highly emotional that the Kaveri water we bathe, drink and perform Aahneeka on the bank of Kaveri. That Kaveri is now joining the ocean quietly and invisibly.

Rayaru performed the saasthataanga namaskara at the sacred spot of Kaveri Samudra Sangama. The paraphernalia of Rayaru also joined with devotion. First Rayaru took a holy dip and raised his head  the face was glowing and shining with divine bliss. They all said Jayakaara to Sri Guru Raghavendra in one voice. Holding the Danda Rayaru again took a holy dip in the kaveri samudra sangama with a smile did prokshana sprinkled the holy water with Danda for three times to all who were assembled there. The devotees received the  Dandodaka for three times overwhelmed with devotion , joy and satisfaction. Expressed their gratitude, loudly made the jayaghosha and praised the seventeenth pontiff of Sri SriMadacharya peetha Sri Raghavendrateertharu. Bath is for body, we ordinary people  experience. But Mumukshus - chetanas desirous of  Moksha opine bathing is for heart and mind and to attain purity in all respects. Sajjanas,Astikas and  Satvikas with this purity after bath pray to Sri Hari and surrender the entire thing samarpane to Sri Hari. Our Rayaru also did the same at this sangama. Rayaru detailed the whole sanctity of samudra snaana to the shishyas and to those who were present on that day.The sea water is salt but abundant sweet punya we acquire by samudra snaana.Destroys our sins within no times.

Sri Raghavendra Yatiraat sat on the bank of this Kaveri Samudra Sangama with great devotion indulged in the meditation of Sri Hari. The devotees who have witnessed this noble and sacred scene were really punyavantaru. By remembering all this our devotion will blossom.

We have to see through our inward eyes that Rayaru is sitting with the Padmaasana performing the long japa of Sri Hari in the holy Garbhaalaya below the Divya Neela Brindavana of Mantralaya. Our Bhikshaalaya - Bichali Sri Appanacharyaru has said in Gurustotra:

AapaadaMouliParyantaamGuroonaamAakrutimSmaraet
TaenaVighnaahaPranashyantiSiddhyantiChaManorathhaaha.

When we remember the divine personality of  Rayaru from the sacred lotus feet to the head, all the obstacles will be vanished automatically and our desires will be fulfilled.

Such a Divine Personality shined on the bank of ocean  Kaveri Samudra Sangama , who has attained the Anugraha of Sri Hari
Looked like our Sri MannMadhwacharyaru, the joy and the pleasure of the devotees knew no bonds. Danced with ecstasy and bowed to this great Yatiraat. The pure and the purest pontiff Sri Raghavendrateertha  Gurusarvabhoumaru Kaveri Samudra Sangama snaana is a record in the history. The way in which Rayaru did the meditation of Sri Hari,Sri Krishna Paramatma on this holy bank was nothing but the divine flow of bhakti of Sri Hari, the observance of  the noble yati dharma - yati dharmaPaalana.

With the new zeal of Bhakti Rayaru moved further to Champaranya along with his Mutt people. There in Maannaargudi Rayaru acquired the divya darshana of Sri Rajagopalasawmi. It is quite heartening to know that our Mantralaya Yatiraat is fortunate enough to have pratyaksha darshana of  Swami Lord Krishna playing with the flute - Venu. Actually tears rolled on the cheeks of Rayaru owing to the experience of devotion and emotion. Rayaru remembered all the janmas, the accumulated punya of all the janmas, performed the pooja of Sri Moola Ramadevaru at the sanctum of Sri Rajagopalaswami and also performed the pooja of Mannaaragudi Sri Rajagopala with great devotion. Offered Naivedya, Mangalarati and took the Bhikshaa and highly satisfied with gratitude. Rayaru received the highest honour in the Mannaaragudi. Presentation of silk shawls, sheshavastra by the  temple authorities. Where ever Sri Raghavendrateertharu went received the highest regard and this became a part of the routine.Whatever Rayaru received immediately offered and surrendered to Sri Hari, so the punya went on multiplying abundantly. In Sri Raghavendra stotra our Bichali Sri Appanacharyaru has said:

Sri Raghavendro Haripaadakanja Nishevanaalabdha Samasta Sampat
DevaswabhaavoDivijaDrumoyamIshtaPradomaeSatamSa Bhooyaat

Rayaru is always engaged in the seva at  the lotus feet of Sri Hari. So the total punya attained by the  divine  nature of our yatiraat has made  Kalpavruksha and Kamadhenu and fulfilling the desires of the world devotees today. We can rightly say that this is the punya of Teertha Yaatraa of our Sri Raghavendrateertha Gurusarvabhoumaru.
