Mantralaya-245

( Grantha Rachana of our Yatiraat Sri Raghavendrateertha Gurusarvabhoumaru)

Date : July 16 2008

Background

The sacred Chaturmaasa vruta will commence from July 13th.2008 , three days before the commencement of Dakshinayana Parva Punyakaala. Observing of vruta is to take care of health and at the same time to balance the Arishadvargas, to develop and improve the satvika and devotional mentality in life:

Shraavane Varjyayae Shaakam Dadhi Bhadrapade Tathaa
Dugdham AshwayaujeMaasi Kaartike Dwidalam Tathaa.

In the shraavana maasa no vegetables for one month. In the Bhadrapada maasa no curd. In the Ashweeja maasa no milk and in the Kaarteeka maasa no dwidal dhanya pulses i.e. bahu beeja should not be used in the food. Yatis strictly follow this, even the Astikas and the Sajjanas also follow this rule (Niyama )during the holy chaturmaasa.

The Akshaya Gnyana, Panditya,Pratibhe and the Grantha Rachana of our Yatiraat Sri Raghavendrateertha Gurusarvabhoumaru are described in Mantralaya(245).

Meaning

Sri VidyaLaxmi appeared in the dream of Sri Venkatanathacharya and asked him to accept the Tureeyashrama “Yatyashrama and to become the successor of Sri Sudheendrateertharu. Further Devi told to Rayaru that she will be always with Rayaru imparting knowledge in accordance with Sri Srimadacharyaru’s teachings. Further VidyLaxmi made Rayaru to know the poorva janmas.

Now that time had come. Sri Raghavendrateertharu after the departure of Sri Yadavendrateertharu from Kumbhkonam to Hampi Anegundi navavrundavana, during the busy schedule of Adhyayana and Adhyapana Gururayaru decided to start the Grantha Rachana as per the inspiration of Sri Hari and the will and wish of our parama guru Sri Vijayeendrateertharu and Sri Sudheendrateertharu. We have no words to describe the abundant knowledge of Vedopanishadas, rich vocabulary, high imagination and the Anugraha of Sri Vidya Laxmi towards the divine chetana. For all this creativity the peace of mind and the presence of mind of Mantralaya Rayaru cannot be excelled by others. That was the divine gift to Sri Raghavendrateertharu by the Lord Sri Hari. The punya of Rayaru and the fortune of the devotees we can say.

Sri Srimadacharya’s DASHAPRAKARANA

For all these Dashaprakaranas our great Sri Jayatheertharu took lot of pains, stayed in the Yergola cave which in the form of a shankha and wrote scholarly Teekas like a Tapasya. Our Sri Raghavendraswamiji with great interest and affection has composed Tippanis and has done a great favour, mahopakaara to all of us. Simplification, easily understable was the main motto of the Tippanis. When we read the Mangalashtaka Shloka of Bichali Sri Appanacharyaru, who had  personally seen and lived with Rayaru who knew fully and dear to Rayaru we are amazed.

The lines of Mangalashtaka depict the perfection of Imagination (Pratibha), Knowledge (Gnyana), efficient in all the vidyas-kalas and the popularity of our Sri Gururayaru. Such a great Yatiraat is simply accepting the seva from all the sections of society and is very popular. The grandeur and offerings received by Rayaru are again submitted to Sri Hari and the punya is distributed to the devotees. So Rayaru is famous as Bhakta Priya. There are two great personalities, eminent scholars who were contemporary to Rayaru and lived with Rayaru have completed knew Rayaru they have described very beautifully in their works. They are Bichali Sri Appanacharya greatest devotee and Sri Narayanacharya the poorvashrama nephew of Rayaru( son of elder sister Venkatamba and Laxminarasimhacharya).

Sri Narayanachar has written : Sri Raghavendra Vijaya

Bichali Sri Appanacharya has written : Sri Raghavendra Gurustotra, Mangalashtaka and Sri Raghavendra Kavacha.

Again Sri Appanacharya has described in the seventh shloka of Mangalashataka:

VedaVyasaMuneeshaMadhwaYatiraatTeekaryaVaakyamrutam
GnyatvaAdvaitaMatamHalaahalaSamamTyaktvaSamakhyaptyae
SankhyavatSukhadaamDashopanishadamVyakhyaamSamakhyanmuda

Sri Vedavyasaru, Sri Anandateertharu, Sri Jaiteertharu, Sri Vyasarajaru’s

granthas upadeshamruta has done a great job to all of us. Sri Raghavendrateertharu has written Khandaartha to SriManNyayaSudhaParimala etc. Such a great Yatiraat always Bless good things in life.

Sri Raghavendra Gurusarvabhoumaru has composed Tippanis to all the Teekas and beautiful explanatory notes (Vyakhyana). With good and kind words made them easily accessible to the devotees. Our Gururayaru a great lover of music, literature, Sri Hari Bhakta Karunaalu has done only the good things through out in life. Just as we get the fragrance of Sandal when we go on rubbing the sandal wood to the grinding stone (saanekallu), we will gain more and more knowledge when we go on reading the writings of our Sri Rayaru always enlighten new ideas and new thoughts. The writings of Rayaru are the books of all the times. This is all for the sake of his devotees, what an amount of concern and care Rayaru is having towards his devotees! We are fortunate to have Mantralaya Rayaru as our Guru,Daiva and Sarvaswa. (contd.)
