When we reach this island we are pleased to see the Nine Yatis Brindavana. It appears that the Yatis have selected this holy sanctum for their yoga and performing the Japa and Tapa though they are in the Brindavana. The wind and the water of the holy Anegundi prove quite healthy and soothing to us. The remembrance of Ramayana, Kishkindha Vaali and Sugreeva all will flash upon our inward eyes. Long ago the saptarshis stayed in this holy island and performed the tapa and japa for several hundred years and with this body only they have boarded Swarga. Such a holy and sacred is this island. Knowing all this the noble yatis of Sri Acharya Madhwa parampara desired this island for their permanent peace and tranquility. This island is now called as NavaVrundavana which is now attracting and drawing the world devotees in large number. The Nava Vrundavana - nine brindavanas of yatis are situated in the form of a circle.
At the top of the middle of all the Vrundavanas we find Sri Hanuma Bheema Madhwaru represented as Praanadevaru facing to the Brindavanas. The Maruti is quite pleasing on this sacred land. Owing to the most sacred nine yatis residing it has become NavaVrundavana. After reaching Anegundi we have to go to our Sri Rayara Mutt and have the darshana of Mruttika Brindavana at that sanctum, where Sri Raghavendrateertharu spent a few days with Sri Sudheendrateertharu. Mantralaya Gururayaru liked and loved Hampi and NavaVrundavana. The Archaks of Anegundi Rayara Mutt will themselves take us to NavaVrundavana as per our request. We have to cross the river Tungabhadra to reach this island NavaVrundavana. Boating facility is available there on the bank of the river. Morning and evening the scene is beautiful, while going by boat and also at the sanctum. A vast rocky bed and on both the sides Tungabhadra is flowing with two different names of sacred teerthas.
A huge compound is now made to protect the sanctity of NavaVrundavana. When we step into that holy place, we ourselves will be in a different world fully bounded by emotional feelings. These sacred Madhwa Yatis have rendered the noble service towards religion and society, worked for the welfare of the human beings, who so ever he/she may be. Abundant knowledge is exhibited in their works in accordance with the teachings of our great Sri Anandateertharu. Attained the affection of Sri Hari and Vayudevaru. On this Anegundi at the island stayed for several days for Japa and Tapa. Finally desired to stay in this sanctum in Brindavana. How lucky they were! The river, mountain, trees, cool breeze always provided healing and soothing and will take us to the higher values and morale of life. Standing on the sanctum of NavaVrundavana when we look on all the four sides, we experience the sublimity of Mother Nature and express gratitude to our Acharya Parampara sacred yatis that how they have selected such a profound and immense silence only the sound of the flow of Tungabhadra and the blow of the wind can be heard. The Archaka of Rayara Mutt Sri Raviacharya detailed the whole thing about NavaVrundavana. Huligemma devi temple Archaka Sri Sripadabhat Joshi and Ganapati the residents of Hosahalli were kind enough to associate at the sanctum of Hampi and Anegundi.
By seeing all this we think that mostly heaven is also like this. Anegundi weather, water and the fruits grown there are very delicious, tasty and trust worthy. So even after so many years the cream and the bliss of NavaVrundavana is always evergreen.
The famous Yatis nine yatis Brindavanas are situated here, a yellow line is marked and made a circle round the Brindavanas, to protect the sanctity. Near the yellow line we can perform the namskara and take the darshana. One should have the punya of poorva janma to visit and attain the Blessings of these famous nine yatis.Bichali Sri Appanacharyaru has rightly said in Gurustotra:
SarvaabheeshtharthaSiddhyarthamNamaskaramKaromyaham
TavaSankeertanamVedaShaastraarthaGnyanaSiddhyae
is applicable to NavaVrundavana too.(contd.).
