I wish to share the kind concern of our Mantralaya Rayaru and Ibharamapura Appa in moulding the character of Ramacharya in Mantralya-221
Once Ramacharya had been to Mantralaya. Though he had received the invitation of scholars meet and seminar of Ibharamapura Appa's vardhanti utsava in Ibharamapura, Ramacharya never cared to attend and participate, thinking that he himself alone was a great scholar. Mantralaya Rayaru's great devotee Appa, who has blessed a number of devotees in many ways was nothing but a miracle. Those who have not studied and well read, by the mere touch of Appa's hand to their heads made them gnyani. The same incident is depicted and described here.
Ramacharya pandit of Sudha and Parimala was in Mantralaya as already said. Knowing his arrogance and not caring nature , Rayaru appeared in the dream of Ramacharya and said that tomorrow is the vardhanti day celebration of Appa in Ibharamapura and a scholars meet Vidwadgoshthi is arranged there.Go and participate start immediately to Ibharamapura. Devotees please note how lucky was Ramacharya, that Rayaru in the dream directed him to Ibharamapura which is about three miles from Mantralaya. Early morning owing to the dream he did not wait for the bullock cart to come (in those days only bullock carts were invogue), so simply went by walk performing the HEJJE NAMASKARA from Mantralaya to Ibharamapura and reached Mantralaya. Appa welcomed him after the Brahma Bhojana, the meet of scholars began. Appa asked Ramacharya to talk on SUDHA of Sri Malkheda Jaiteertharu. During the pravachana on SUDHA Ramacharya did not explain certain matters properly and was simply skipping to the next point. Appa asked Ramacharya to stop his pravachana for a while and called his shishya - favourite shishya GURUSEVANISHTHA and touched his head with his hands and asked to explain and describe the point which Ramacharya was simply neglecting and skipping to the next point. The favourite shishya was not a scholar nor he has read SUDHA so far. The shishya went to the dias and completely for one hour in Sanskrit language delivered the pravachana and also explained and described the points in the beautiful style which were left by Ramacharya. The face of Ramacharya was pale and soon fainted. Ramacharya realised his mistake and soon admitted his mistake with repentance surrendered to Appa. An ordinary shishya of Appa is so well versed in SUDHA then what about Appa and others. His great pride and prejudice were soon washed away. Transformed into satvika. Infact Mantralaya Rayaru sent him for that only, and aparokshagnyani Appa also knew his arrival and the wish of Rayaru. Appa generally never said anything when there was audience. After the function or the meet Appa used to call the pandits personally if they have committed any mistakes and guided them in the decent way. But here in the case of Ramacharya Appa told in the public speech openly to stop for a while. Ramacharya thought and was posing that he was the only SUDHA pandit knew all. Appa said Ramacharya you are a scholar no doubt, but you have no politeness. Without that politeness and pleasing manners panditya will never flourish and shine. That will be like a flower without fragrance. Appa made it clear that gnyana and bhakti are greater than panditya:
Vidya Dadaati Vinyam. Vidya Vinayena Shobhatae
Vidya Vnayet Shobhatae.
In this way Mantralaya Rayaru and Ibharamapura's Appa have done the uddhaara of Ramacharya. Ramacharya immediately transformed into a great bhakta of Appa.
Here we understand the power of blessings of Ibharamapura's Appa. Appa was blessed by chiranjeevi Sri Ashwathamacharya and Rayaru was present in the heart of Appa performing the miracles in the interest of the devotees of this universe. Sri Krshnacharya Appa a great aparokshagnyani. Rayaru knew the power of desire, the power of active creativity, the power of blessing and the power of touch i.e.sparsha shakti. Mantralaya Rayaru and Ibharamapura's Appa guided Ramacharya properly in the noble task of the propagation of Sri Harisarvottama and Vayujeevottama.
Our Bichali Sri Appanacharya has rightly said in Gyrustotra:
Tava Sankeertanam Veda Shaastrartha Gnyana Siddhayae. By pronouncing OM SRI RAGHAVENDRAAYA NAMAHA we will acquire all the knowledge of Vedas and Shastra.
Namo GuruERaghavendra Namo Ibharamapura's
Appa.
