Background
Sri Raghavendra Swamy’s protection over us is described in Mantralaya (2014).
Meaning
Life
presents us with a multitude of experiences—joy and sorrow, success and
struggle, beginnings and farewells. Sri Krishna’s wisdom in the
Bhagavad Gita gently reminds us that acceptance is our most powerful
response. By embracing each moment, Krishna says, we open ourselves to
the truth that everything unfolds for a purpose, shaping us and guiding
us toward greater good.
When we choose to see each experience as
meaningful, even in hardship, we begin to draw positive energy into our
lives. With faith in the divine rhythm, we learn to view challenges not
as obstacles, but as hidden blessings, nurturing our inner strength and
resilience. In this way, surrender becomes a gateway to profound peace,
allowing us to remain steady through life’s tides. As Krishna teaches,
the path of acceptance and trust draws the blessings of the universe to
us, surrounding us with light, hope, and the quiet assurance that all
is, and will be, well.
Sri Raghavendra Swamy resides eternally
in his Brindavana, immersed in deep meditation to bless and guide all
who seek him. His sacred Brindavana is filled with the divine presence
of over 700+ Saligrams, stones representing the essence of Lord
Vishnu, each one embodying the sanctity of countless holy sites, or
Punya Kshetras. These Saligrams make Rayaru’s Brindavana as powerful as
many pilgrimage destinations combined, carrying the grace and spiritual
energy of Vaikunta itself, as the Haridasas have sung.
The
Brindavana radiates the presence of Sri Hari, accompanied by all
deities, residing with Sri Raghavendra Swamy in a celestial space on
earth. A mere darshan of this sacred place has the power to wash away
lifetimes of accumulated karma, freeing us from sin and opening us to
divine blessings.
Doing Pradakshina to Sri Rayara Brindavana
carriers great importance. My Father Sri Raghvendra in Mantralaya(183)
importance of Sri Rayara Brindavana Pradashina which I am explaining
below
In the sacred text Sri Raghavendra Tantra, Sondur Sri
Krishnavadhootaru illuminates the profound significance of performing
Pradakshina (circumambulation) around the Brindavana of
Sri Raghavendra Swamy:
|| Sri Guru Raghavendrasya Ekaikasmin Pradakshinae
Sapta Dweepa Mahee Yatraa Phalam Vindati Maanavaha.||
Through
a single, heartfelt Pradakshina of Sri Rayaru, devotees attain the
spiritual merit equivalent to pilgrimage across all seven continents
and sacred sites of the world. Such is the power of sincere devotion to
Rayaru, who grants this sakala yatra phala—the benefits of all holy
journeys—by merely circling his Brindavana with a pure heart.
In
Mantralaya, devotees immerse themselves in the sacred Tungabhadra River
and perform Namaskaras (obeisances) around Rayaru’s Brindavana. It is a
sight to behold: devotees express devotion with humble prayers,
recitations of Bichchale Sri Appanacharya’s Sri Gurustotra, and
complete surrender to Sri Rayaru, eager to receive his blessings.
Our
Dasas have sung that heaven itself resides in Mantralaya through the
presence of Sri Rayaru. Rayaru bestows spiritual merit freely to the
faithful who follow the path of dharma. Morning and evening, devotees
participate in Pradakshina Seva, symbolically circling a
wish-fulfilling Kalpavruksha and a divine Kamadhenu, reflecting
Rayaru’s boundless blessings.
Only the virtuous and sincere
(Sajjanas) are drawn to this sacred Seva. In an incident once a sinful
evil man came to Mantralaya seeking Rayaru's Brindavana, yet could not
see it even while standing right before it. After two days, he left
without darshan, reminding us that the blessings of Mantralaya are
reserved for those of pure heart. This moment reflects the deep truth
found in the teachings of our Dasas: Dushtarige Dorakidavara Seva—only
the devoted will truly receive Rayaru’s grace.
Gurustotra,
composed by Bichchale Sri Appanacharya, promises that even those who
are physically limited may receive Rayaru’s divine aid. The 26th Shloka
captures this miracle:
|| Yad Brindavanamaasadya Panghuhu Khanjopipivaa Janaha
Stotrenaanena Yaha Kuryaat Pradakshina Namaskrutee
Sajanghaalo Bhavet Yeva Gururaja Prasadataha ||
Through
sincere chanting of the Gurustotra and dedicated Pradakshina, Rayaru
blesses those who cannot walk, enabling them to move freely and enjoy
divine grace. The dedication of devotees, their chanting of the
Gurustotra, and the depths of their faith demonstrate the
transformative power of Rayaru’s blessings.
Sri Rayaru connects
devotees to the ultimate truth of Sri Hari Sarvottama and Sri Vayu
Jeevottama, binding them spiritually to the legacy of Sri Madhvacharya.
Kosigi Sri Guru Jagannatha Dasaru expressed this beautifully, affirming
that the lives of devotees are perfected and sanctified through
Rayaru’s guidance. As he said, Nambi Kettavarillavo Ee Gurugala—“Those
who have faith in this Guru have never been disappointed.”
Thus, the Raghavendra Swamy Mangalashtaka hymn concludes:
|| YadBrindavana SaPradakshina Namaskarabhishekastuti
Dhyaanaaraadhana Mrudvilepana Mukhanekopachaaraan Sada.||
In
Mantralaya, through Pradakshina, Namaskaras, and heartfelt Seva,
devotees are blessed by Rayaru’s grace. Rayaru is indeed our
wish-fulfilling Kalpavruksha, a divine protector who grants us peace,
purpose, and blessings beyond measure.
In our moments of
difficulty, when every door seems closed, the door to Sri Raghavendra
Swamy remains open, offering solace, hope, and a path forward. By
surrendering our hearts to Rayaru, we entrust him with our worries, our
struggles, and our deepest hopes. His compassionate grace is
ever-present, leading us through life’s challenges and lighting our way
with unwavering love. Let us place our full faith in Rayaru, knowing
that his guidance will never fail us.
The devotion towards
Sri Raghavendrateertharu is the ultimate truth and is the most simple
and effective way to reach Sri Hari - "NAMBI KETTAVARILLAVO EE
GURUGALA"! “Those who have complete faith in this Guru will never be
disappointed.”
