Background

Meaning

• one Brahmin said, I wish to have sweet cake (Karigadabu)
• one desired to have coloured Rice - Chitranna
• and third one desired to eat Bhajia(Buraburi ­ Bonda).

On Shraavana Krishna Paksha Dwiteeya as per the message of Diwan Venkanna,the Vedic Brahmins were present in Mantralaya. They performed the first pooja, first abhisheka, first panchamruta, alankara etc on the very first day. The vedic Brahmins became the sacred Archakas of Rayaru from that day only. Venkanna made all the arrangements in Manchale, gave the house, lands etc. Thus they were highly satisfied and became the residents of Mantralaya.

Aparokshagnyani Sri Raghavendrateertharu heard the Gurustotra sitting in the Brindavana which started from the Japadakatti of Bichali. Finally Rayaru completed the divya stotra of his dear devotee Appanacharya by saying : "Saakshi Haya Stotrahi." As Rayaru was indulged in the Japa of Hayavadana Roopi  Sri Hari at that time. The same Gurustotra Pathana was done by Appanacharya for the first time to the Rayara Brindavana with great purity and devotion that after taking the holy dip in Tungabhadra, with wet clothes only he preformed the Pathana of Gurustotra. From that day onwards the stotra had become very popular and famous as STOTRARAJA. Rayaru is highly pleased with this STOTRA. So I appeal to the world Devotees to learn Gurustotra and attain Siddhi. So the devotees are visiting Mantralaya Rayaru and Bhikshalaya ­ Bichali Appanacharyaru.

Sri Yogeendrateertharu performed the Pooja of Sri Moola RamaDevaru, Naivedya, Vaishwadeva and Hastodaka to Rayaru abundant devotees who were  gathered in Mantralaya were fed satisfactorily. Diwan Venkanna in accordance with the guidelines had already made the stone construction of SriMutt which was prevalent in those days. The main door with the stone frame of Sri Mutt speaks the greatness of Rayaru. Diwan Venkanna’s life became Dhanya and bent with  gratitude.

Bichali Sri Appanacharya became Antarmukhi, stayed in Mantralaya could separate from the Brindavana of his dear Rayaru.Seeing the plight of Appanna Rayaru felt sorry, appeared in the dream and said go to Bichali and have the Ek Shila Brindavana on the Japadakatti and will give Darshana through Jyoti Roopa when ever he wants. So returned and Bichali and did the Pratishthaapana of Ek Shila Brindavana. Squatting at the Japadakatti composed Mangalashtaka of Rayaru spontaneously. The spontanity of Appanacharya cannot be questioned by anybody, such a Gnyani,Bhakta, Kavi. Appanacharya experienced the anugraha and affection of Rayaru and made it available to all through GURUSTOTRA and MANGALASHTAKA.When we remember Rayaru the first word comes to our tongue is Bichali Appanacharya.
