Meaning

Bhikshalaya Appanacharya’s Sri Raghavendra Gurustotra and Mangalashtaka are really Sanjeevini to the devotees of the world and many have obtained Siddhi. Bhikshalaya ­ Bichchale the birth place, the native place of Sri Appanacharya situated on the sacred bank of Tungabhadra. Very near to the river, we can say adjacent to the river we find Japadakatte. Under the Ashwath Vruksha. This tree was planted by Sri Sripadarajaru. The thick and huge shadow of the tree was the open class room of Appanacharya’s Gurukula. The Japadakatte was the dias of teaching to his dear students. Bhikshalaya the Karma Bhoomi,Gnyana Bhoomi and the Punya Bhoomi attracted Mantralaya Rayaru, the devotional purity, selfless service, magnanimity, loyal friendship made Rayaru to stay in Bhikshalaya for a long time, years together and showered the punya to all the Sajjanas.

Such a great Yatiraat Gururaya decided to enter Sa Shareera Brindavana on Shraavana Krishna Paksha Trateeya. By hearing this shocking news came to Bichchale, his birth place, the sanctum of Siddhi and decided to go to Mantralaya and croos the Tungabhadra river which was in full Spate from the Japadakatte. Appanacharya fully surrendered to Rayaru, he had great devotion and affection towards his great Guru. Crying out of ecstasy and devotional emotion went on doing the Pathana of Sri Raghavendrateertha’s Stotra through Pratibha and Ashukavitva. Composed a Stotra ­ GuruStotra of All the times. By the time Appanacharya reached Mantralaya could not see the face of his dear Guru. His Stotra suddenly stopped after Saying:

Gururaya Completed the Stotra by Pronouncing:

From the Brindavana, at that time Rayaru was Chanting Hayagreeva Mantra, and said What all are said in the Stotra are true and HayagreevaDevaru is the witness for this. What a great devotee our Bichcale Appanacharya. With the Blessings of Rayaru Appanacharya crossed the Tungabhadra and Tungamma paved the way to reach Mantralaya.

So today the devotees of the world are rushing to Bhikshalaya ­ Bichchale Japadakatte to obtain the Paramanugraha of Rayaru, the Darshana of Ek ShilaBrindavana and know the Holy details of Bhikshalaya from Sri Badadha Ramacharya, the Vamshastha of Appanacharya who is also the Archaka of Ek ShilaBrindavana of the JAPADAKATTE. It is quite interesting to note that the devotees are highly desireous of Ashtottara of Gurustotra and offer Rs.108/ For Ashtottara of twelve Thursdays in a year, each Thursday Rs.9/. what a Sacred and Noble Job, Ashtottara Pathana on the bank of Tungabhadra at the Japadakatte ­ where our Appanacharya Started the Pathana Spontaneously by Ashukavitva to cross the Tungabhadra. Gurustotra took its birth there only on this Sacred Spot So Japadakatte Ashtottara Shata Seva Trust of Bichchale has attracted the mass Devotees of the world. Devotees are grateful and bent with gratitude for this act of Kindness.

Appanacharya has said:

Yonuttamamidam Stotram Ashtottara Shatam Japaet.

The Ashtottara Pathana at this Sanctum has yielded Siddhi, Sheeghra Phalaprada.

Sondur Krishnavadhootaru has said in Sri Raghavendra Tantra :

By Gurustotra Pathana the devotees will get and gain confidence towards Rayaru. With Gurustotra Pathana we have worship Rayaru and Gurustotra Pathana itself is GuruPooja, Worship of Rayaru.

Then our Sri RaghavendraTantrakaara says:

Japet Paschaat Appanaryaya Naama Mantram Japed Yathha
Sri Appanaryaya Namaha Ityashtaksharo Manuhu

By taking the name of Appanacharya the devotees will get quick Siddhi. Knowing all this the devotees are  doing the Yatra of Bhikshalaya ­ Bichchale Japadakatte and avail the Ashtottara of Rayaru through out the year. The Sacred and the worthy job of Appanacharya Vamshashtharu is really great and praise worthy.

I feel the Chanting of:

Bichchale Sri Appanarya Priya Mantralaya Sri Raghavendrateertha Gurubhyo Namaha will be the Superb way to pronounce and remember at a time to attain Siddhi.
