Now I wish to share about one more incident of Govindaraya in his lifetime. Owing to the government job, frequent transfers and moving from place to place, Govindaraya never cared for this, He thought he can see the holy places of near by and never tried for cancellation. Where ever he went, he joined with the satvikas and the bhaktas. Mixed with them did some good, memorable and religious work of nobility. Govindaraya punyatma worked for the masses for their benefit and Hari seva.
Once Govindaraya was staying in Hosadurga. He has to go to Bangalore. For this He has to cross the Yegachi river along with his family. Yegachi a small river, always the water flow was up to the knee of our legs. Always we have to walk through the wide sandy area and the water will be in the middle. As it was just the beginning of the rainy season and the water was very low, Govindaraya loaded all his belongings in the bullock cart, and walked to cross the river along with his mother Laxmibai and his family. After going a little while Govindaraya noticed some flow of red colour coming from upwards. No sooner he saw a thick wave appeared and a bullock cart was washed away. Govindaraya came to know that Yegachi is getting full spate, saw for help on all the sides. But nobody was there. At the same time he cannot go back also. As he had already walked and crossed a pretty long distance of sandy area. Govindaraya’s mother chanted Madhwa Naama to save from this danger. Govindarya immediately remembered Mantralaya Rayaru and started the chanting of Gurustotra of Bichchale Appanacharya with Devotion. Became quite emotional as he knew the meaning of the shloka:
"Samsaarae Akshaya Saagarae Prakrutito
Gaadhae Sada Dustarae
Sarva Vadya Jalagrahairanupamae
Kaamaadi Bhangaakulae
Naana Vibhrama Durbhramae Amita
Bhaya Stomaadi Phaenotkatae
Dukhotkrushta Vishae Samuddhara
Guro Maa Magna Roopam Sada."
Life is an ocean, here opposite current with all poisonous creatures and vicious circle creating sorrows and sufferings. Only Gururaya you have to protect me from this and lift from this to a secure place. Prayed whole heartedly. No sooner Govindaraya prayed, Two persons came took them on their shoulders, within a fraction of a second reached on the other side of the Yegachi. Govindaraya did not believe how they came. And searched for the persons who saved them, but not found. This is the Greatest Miracle of Mantralaya Rayaru in the life of this great devotee Govindaraya (Guru Govinda Vithalankitaru that is Guru Govinda Dasaru).
Then with tears Govindaraya said Mantralaya Rayaru is too kind to save him from the deadly ashtama and also from the spate of Yegachi. With all these incidents-miracles the mode of life of Govindaraya found a new change in his life. Became a great devotee of Mantralaya Rayaru. How sacred, great and powerful is the Rayara Gurustotra of Bhikshaalaya Sri Appanacharya. Today crores together devotees are chanting the Stotra that itself is the NAMANA-regard to this Great Sri Appanacharya, Bichchale the most sacred dearest place to Rayaru because of Appanacharya. Each word is valuable, real and true.
Guru Govinda Vithalankita Guru Govinda Dasaru (Govindaraya) is Trikaala Smaraneeya to the devotees of Mantralaya and to Dasa Sahitya
