(Vyasaena Vyupta Beejaha Shruti … Meaning of Dwaita Philosophy )

Date: Jan 10 2007

Background

The importance of four lines of Bhikshaalaya Bichchale Sri Appanachary’s Shloka and the glory of Dwaita Philosophy are described in Mantralaya(162).

 Meaning

I wish to describe the meaning of the  Shloka of Bichchale Sri Appanacharya  that depicts, the whole History of dwaita Peetha in general, the Progress and the  History of Mantralaya Sri Rayara Matha in particular:

Vyasaena Vyupta Beejaha

Shruti Bhuvi Bhagavat Paada Labdhaankurashrihi

Pratyaireeshat PrabhinnoJani Jayamuninaa

Samyadudbhinna Shaakhaaha

Mouneesha Vyasaraajaat Uditakisalaha Pushtitoyam

Jayeendraat

Adya Sri Raghavendraat Vilasati Phalito Madhwa

Siddhanta Shaakhi.”

Sri Madacharya Peethas Yatis, their contribution, their greatness are described in this Shloka, in a pleasing and soothing manner to our hearts. Our India is Punya Bhoomi, Veda Bhoomi, the Avataara of Sri Hari took place here only. Sri Veda Vyasaru-the incarnation of Sri Hari is the main source of bhakti, actually Sri Vyasaru has done the sowing of Harisarvottama,is further nourished by Sri Madacharya Sri Bhagavatpadaru-Sri Man Madhwacharyaru and started growing. So The Tatva-Philosophy-Mata is popular and famous as MadhwamataVaishnavamata. This Tree of Madhwamata is further grown with several branches. All the works of Sri Vyasaru, shaped well by Sri Mat Anandateertharu including Brahma Sutra. The same voluminous works commentary, Teeka, Tippani were undertaken by Sri Jaiteertharu  staying  at Yergol for a long time in a systematic and meticulous way. Abundant books were written by Malkheda Jayarayaru-Teekakrutpaadaru, when writing on Taaleyolegari by steel nail was a hard task. Completed this noblework as a Tapasya, sometimes without food for several days. As the place was quite lonely no body used to go there.Jaiteertharu selected that sacred spot only for His writings.Several Adwaita Stalwarts including Sri Vidyaranyaru argued with  Sri Malkheda Jaiteertharu and accepted the version and the verdict of  this Great Muni Jayamuni-Jaiteertha Muni. As a total mark of all this a Pillar VIJAYASTAMBHA was installed in Kolhapur.A Great contribution by Sri Jaiteertharu to our Madhwa Philosophy.

Then Sri Vyasarajaru further blossomed this by His Punya Bala and Tapo Bala. Our Nagalapur Sri Vishnuteertha-Shisya of Sri Vyasarajaru became Yati by Sri Surendrateertharu of  Rayara Matha .As Sri Vijayeendrateertharu  a great scholar expert in all the sixtyfour kalas, author of more than 106 books has further added impetus to our Dwaita Tatva-Dwaita Philosophy was none but the Eleventh Pontiff of Sri Madacharya Peetha took Yati Ashrama by Sri Ramachandrateertharu of Yergol as Sri Vibudhendrateertharu. Took rebirth for the sake of the great task of  propagating Sri Madhwa Mata. Thus during the days of our Sri Vijayeendrateertharu of Kumbhakonam on the bank of the Kaveri,  the Tree of Vaishnavism became quite healthy .

Our Mantralaya Sri Raghavendra Gurusarvabhoumaru made available all the rare things-gist to the devotees. The healthy Tree of Madhwa Mata Yielded Sweet Fruits to the Betterment of Mankind. Appanacharya of Bhikshaalaya  lived with Rayaru closely understood and realized the greatness of this Apratima Yati and has described like this. Today Mantralaya is honouring the Scholars,Artists and Rare Personalities for their work and Efficiency in the field of Adhyatma and also in the field of Loukika helping the needy, desired  requisities of the  able Satvikas. The Mantralayas developmental activities, the progress and the Mantralaya Vaibhava  are the Boon to Manukula ,to prosper and attain Mantralaya Rayara Anu graha. Madhwa Siddhanta has yielded fine fruits to all of us. The kind care and the concern of Rayaru is attracting the masses of the world towards Mantralaya.Devotees are now realizing the importance of Bichchale Appanacharya’s Four lines Shloka. The devotees prayers, Samarpana Bhaava and gratitude in getting their fruits, the Appanacarya’s Sri Raghavendraat Vilasati Phalito Madhwa Siddhanta Shaakhi we may also add as Manukula Siddhanta Shaakhi. The Shloka is highly appropriate.

We devotees simply surrender to Rayarau and say “NAMO NAMO GURURAYA TUNGABHADRA TEERA NIVASA”
