Mantralaya-159

(House of Sri Appanacharya in Bichchale)

Date: Dec 20 2006

Background

The house of Sri Appanacharya in Bichchale and its sanctity by Mantralaya Rayaru are described in Mantralaya (159)

Meaning

On the day of Margasheersha Dashami after the completion of the seva at JAPADAKATTE, we proceeded to the house of the most fortunate Sri Appanacharya in Bhikshaalaya-Bichchale. The house was built some four hundred and fifty years back. In that house the great devotee of Mantralaya Rayaru, a great scholar, a great personality of imaginative power, pratibhapurna sampanna, lived with all pomp and show as a teacher and Saraswati’s Varaputra. Composed all extempore - Ashukavitva by abundant rich vocabulary  of appropriate words. The world will never find such a scholar in future and never found before. Above all a great devotee of Mantralaya Rayaru, their bodies were two but heart was one, such an understanding and intermingling of feelings. For the sake of this Kind personality Sri Rayaru always paid visit to Bichchale. Resided in the house of Sri Appanacharya.

As soon as we enter the house there is a big hall, we call it as PADASAALE - sleeping hall – place where all the members of the  house used to sleep together in that big hall. That is really spacious with four pillars of wood. In the center of the hall Rayaru used to sit and sleep. That is fully guarded by tied rope to the four pillars, as no one can walk. Decorated with Rangavalli and clearly written in Kannada that Sri Raghavendrateertharu was sleeping at that place. The place is quite holy, we simply bow and do Saashtaanga and pray to Rayaru. The atmosphere of the house is highly pleasing. We find nothing but sanctity every where. We simply imagine how great this devotee was and what an amount of Punya  Appanacharya  had ? Daily devotees are  in the line to Visit this Sanctum of Bichchale. It is as Sacred as JAPADAKATTE.

The Seva of Sri Appanacharya towards Sri Rayaru cannot be described in words ! Appanacharya himself was cooking the food for Sri MoolaRamara Naivedya. Himself  was grinding the Dal Chatni which was dear to Rayaru. We can also see the spot, where Rayaru was performing the Pooja of Sri MoolaRama in that house. Today all the Sacred spots are well guarded and worshipped daily.  After seeing all this we will be unable to leave that house. The House of Appanacharya in Bichchale is as famous and sacred as Mantralaya  and JAPADAKATTE of Bhikshaalaya. The most Blessed scholar’s  house was made chirantana and daivatva by Rayaru. In the Hall we can see the idol of Sri Panduranga worshipped by Appanacharya.

There is a door in the Padasaale-Hall, there we find a little back yard. There we see Shesha Shila Murty being worshipped daily. When Sri Raghavendraru stayed in that Appanacharya’s house there was a Snake Bill- HUTTA ( a house where serpents dwell-the white ants make this by soil). A black serpent was in that hutta. Daily after the pooja of Sri MoolaRama  Rayaru offered milk in a big plate. The black serpent- KARIYA  NAAGA- will come from hutta ,drink and then go away. This continued for a long time by Rayaru and Appanacharyaru.  Rayaru daily offered Ksheera Naivedya to Shesha Devaru.  Rayaru thought after He enters Brindavana  people  may afraid of the Shesha and asked Appanacharya to remove the Snake Bill- Hutta. After they dismantled the whole thing, they got a Shila Shesha Vigraha. Rayaru Seeing the Shila Shesha Devaru simply embraced to his heart tears rolled on his cheeks and felt extremely happy. The Kariya Naga-Shesha Devaru transformed into a Shila Murtyu and thus clarified the sanctity of Rayaru to the whole world.  Mantralaya Rayaru installed in that back yard where the Snake Bill was existing. Statrted Pooja.Even to this day the same Pooja is being continued by the residents of Bichchale Appanacharya Vamshastharu.Rayaru is too kind and thought of his devotees safety and sanctity. That KARIYA NAGA had become a Shila Shesha and taking Pooja daily.Shesha,Garuda,Prana Devaru are all dear to Rayaru as our Rayaru was Vishwaksena, Vasudaana, Prahlada and Vyasarajaru. The kind concern and care towards His devotees have no words to  elaborate  nor to describe.

Today the house of Sri Appanacharya is attracting the devotees by its sacred sanctum.Blessing the devotees. The village Bichchale is very popular by Appanacharya and Rayaru. Just as Rayaru is in Mantralaya, often visits Panchamukhi, Bichcale Appanacharya’s house and JAPADAKATTE. Blessing the devotees of the universe for their betterment and what all they require and ask. Mantralaya Yogi bestows Gnyaana, Bhakti and Vairaagya. A rare saint to the MANUKULA by Sri Hari.
