Background

Death is an undeniable reality, and it is through Rayaru's grace that we find the strength to overcome the loss of our loved ones is described in Mantralaya(1084).

Meaning

According to Vedic philosophy, besides the Supreme God, every being experiences death, including all gods and goddesses. Each soul is allotted a specific time to experience life within a particular body. In ancient times, this wisdom was imparted from a very young age to help children comprehend the truths of existence, recognize life's true values, and embark on a righteous path. However, as time progressed, this invaluable knowledge gradually faded away.

Lord Yama is tasked with harmonizing the energy bodies across all galaxies and ensuring the purification of souls' deeds before their rebirth. Allow me to share a story from the Puranas.

Once, Lord Yama desired to behold Supreme Lord Narayana in Vaikunta. As he entered Vaikunta, he noticed a bird joyfully perched atop an arch, beaming with a smile. Deep in thought, Yama proceeded further. Observing this, Lord Shesha Devaru speculated that Yama's attention was drawn to the bird, anticipating he might seize it. Swiftly, Lord Shesha Devaru darted towards the bird, whisking it away from Vaikunta and concealing it beneath another galaxy. Having completed this, Lord Shesha Devaru returned to Vaikunta.

After seeing Supreme God Vishnu in Vaikunta, Lord Yama leaves. As he exits, he laughs happily at Lord Shesha Devaru. Confused, Shesha asks Yama why he laughed. Yama explains, "I noticed you protecting the bird, which was my main concern. I came to Vaikunta seeking advice from Vishnu about the bird. As long as it was in Vaikunta, I couldn't take it, but its time was ending soon. If I couldn't take it, it would disrupt the balance of energy bodies. I came for advice, and you helped by moving the bird away from Vaikunta and helping it to reach  Yama Loka."

This incident underscores the undeniable reality that death is an inescapable fate for every entity across all galaxies. Each body bears an expiration date

We must grasp the teachings emphasized by Rayaru and Ananda Teertharu, which stress the importance of continuously contemplating the divine mantra:

|| Santatam Chintayet Anantam Antakale Visheshatah ||

This urges us to incessantly chant the name of the Supreme Lord Narayana. By doing so, even in our final moments, we may remember to utter Narayana's name, thus paving the path towards a virtuous life.

The devotion towards Sri Raghavendrateertharu is the ultimate truth and is the most simple and effective way to reach Sri Hari  - "NAMBI KETTAVARILLAVO EE GURUGALA"! “Those who have complete faith in this Guru will never be disappointed.”
