The importance of the Kaagina river and the origin of
the birth of this sacred river are decscribed in Jaiteerth Vijaya(2).
Each and every action of ours will be as per the will
and wish of Sri Hari. For this our great Sri Purandara Dasaru has said in his
PADAS-Sakalavoo Hari Seve Yenni. All this is the Service of Sri
Hari-Narayana-Vishnu.
Once
Agasthya Maharshi went on a pilgrimage to acquire Punya. He bathed in all the
Sacred rivers-Teerthas-Pushkaranis and collected the water in his
Kamandalu.with Satisfaction and Proud he was passing through the Hills of
Ananthagiri.Mean while Agasthya received the nature’s
call .He placed his filled – water Kamandalu on a stone
and went .As per the Will and Wish of Sri Hari and Sri Vayu Devaru Indra was
actually waiting in the form of a crow and Spilled the entire water of that
Kamandalu.Agasthya became angry and cursed Indra to be born on this earth as a
human man.
That
Spilled Kamandalu flown like a river .As the
crow has Spilled,Sri Agasthya Sage named the river as KAAGINA. Indra with
repentance asked Agasthya what is next? Agasthya told that when Indra gets Deeksha of a pontiff he
will get Mukti Liberation from this human bondage-that Sri Dhondo Raya took
Deeksha from Sri Akshobhyateertharu.Sri Dhondoraya is Indra this Dhondoraya was
none, other than Jaiteertharu.
Agasthya
sage knew the whole thing through his Divya Drushti He himself took the first
holy bath in that sacred river Kaagina His joy knew no bonds. All the Sacred rivers total accumulation is in the river Kaagina. Devotees
take a holy dip in this River with that belief and thinking.
Agasthya
is responsible for several water facilities such as TANKS,WELLS,RIVERS and
PUSHKARANIS etc. This river Kaagina taking birth in the Anathagiri Hills flown
through Chitapur,Sedam,Shahabad and Malkhed and joined the river
Bheema. For the sake of Sri Jaiteertharu Kaagina is born.
Sri
Jaiteertharu Composed Commentary-Proper Commentary
i.e.Teekas to the works of Sri Madacharya and entered Brindavana while
he was alive by the side of his Guru Sri Akshobhyateerthara Brindavana on the
bank of Kaagina at Malkhed. The flowing lullaby of Kaagina is heard
mildy.Jaiteertharu is Blessing the Devotees with
Gnyaana-Vairaagya-Sacchastra.Taking bath in the Kaagina river means we have
taken bath in all the sacred rivers.
We
are grateful to Malkhed-Kaagina.
